Just watched Knocked up for the second time on HBO. Damn that movie is FUNNY.

Way best Judd Apatow film of the lot. If you've been through a pregnancy or are married this thing is friggen hilarious. It's dead-on! 40 year-old Virgin is a close second, and Superbad is a huge dropoff. Just relies on stoopid characters and idiotic events.

Agreed! Although I like Superbad more than you expressed. Especially the red riding of the thigh (god that is nasty) AND the division symbol pants remark. Not here, not here, but here.

I hated Knocked Up. Seth Rogan's character was a freaking loser, who I just wanted to punch in the face. And, I understand it is a movie, but why in the effing world would a woman as pretty, intelligent and with such a skyrocketing career as Katherine Heigl's character ever waste her time on a loser like that?

Also, i don't do drugs, I don't like to watch people do drugs. If you have to show your characters smoking from a bong all the time to get a laugh, the you suck as a writer, and a director.

Never saw knocked up, don't want to.

I f*cking hate Steve Carell and the funny moments in 40YOV can be counted on one hand.

Superbad didn't live up to the hype, but it was still pretty funny in some parts. I definately enjoyed it more than the other two, considering I'll never view Knocked Up.

if I remember correctly she was wasted when she gave it up to him and he was playing a nice guy. I've seen a lot of losers/douchebags get hot chicks

Superbad reminds me of high school. So I like it more.True, and when you get a slo-mo cut-scene with "Stranglehold" in the background, it's always good.

Hmm...

I liked 40 Year Old Virgin the best personally...though I found all three to be very good. I am looking forward to pirating Forgetting Sarah Marshall when a good version is available!

40 year old has the most quotable lines, and seems to be funnier all the way through (except that annoying old chick).

Knocked up was great, but don't think it has the staying power of 40 year old.

They both had sets of great characters, but I might have to give the edge to 40 year old, since it was more ecclectic, not just a group of stoners and a pussy-whipped husband.

I hated Superbad.

Superbad>40 Year-Old Virgin>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Knocked Up

Superbad was insane. McLovin? The "beer stain" at the party? The diatribe between Seth & Evan? Pure, insane genius.

The 40 Year-Old Virgin had classic moments "You know how I know you're gay?", Johah Hill trying to purchase thigh-high boots, the Indian guys (What are we homeboy? Al-Qaeda?) and on an on and on.

Knocked Up only had a few funny moments to me. Katherine Heigel was a hormonal bitch throughout the movie and I never bought the fact that she'd hook up with Seth. Leslie Mann was the same as she was in Big Daddy (the bitchy sister) and Paul Rudd was just Paul Rudd, solid and funny but there wasn't enough interaction with him and "the guys" for it to be truly funny.

Plus, most of that shit was too real. "Read the books". "You don't care". "SUPPORT ME".

That shit's not funny once you've live it.

Superbad > Knocked up > 40 yr Virgin

Virgin > Knocked Up > Superbad

I judge them as such because they're all variations on the exact same theme: that losers can find true love with hot babes. And it's a fine theme the way it's presented in Virgin, but it gets progressively more annoying in the next two films.

Seth Rogen as a slacker stoner who can nail Katherine Heigl? Come on. But even that pales in comparision to the total absurdity of Jonah Hill's dealings with the ladies in Superbad.

The next step in the evolution is to not even have a script, and just film it while pornstars come over and get paid to bang Rogen and Hill and whatever other dorky looking guys they can find.

What, you're an ugly guy and knocked up a hot chick? Nothing wrong with that.

I thought Knocked Up was hilarious. How the guys got to know each other and related to each other and undestood each other through the insanity. Below is some funny shit.

The first two are basically indistinguishable to me. Superbad was sort of funny, but also kind of shrill in spots. None need to be seen more than once.

When I think great comedy...I think 'Office Space'.

None of these films are even in the same arena.

Animal House, Office Space, Blues Brothers, Coming to America are all classics and you can't compare Superbad and what not to them. But they are still worth a watch and a good laugh

Maybe cause Knocked Up is so fresh in my mind [I too, caught it on HBO last night], but it's

KO>40YO>SB.

I wouldn't say KO was the LOL funniest, but I'd call it enduring funny [by analogy, in a horror film, any 'cat jumping out of the shadows' moment can scare you once, Psycho is enduring scary]. That observation on life being an unfunny episode of Everybody Loves Raymond that lasts forever is something you'll be chuckling ruefully if you watch this 40 years from now.

40YO takes second place because it has the most funny bits and scenes

HolmeZz

I wholeheartedly disagree.

I think 40YOV and Superbad are a toss-up, with Knocked Up a pretty distant third. 40YOV and Superbad were classics. KU is on a similar level to Forgetting Sarah Marshall IMO. Funny movies, but just pale in comparison.
