Thanks to BSMac, who set this up.

I think there's only a couple minor quibbles with this sucker, but it's sure nice to look at.

To quote BSMac...

Starters are at top of each block.
Blue players are new to the team this year (asterisks indicate drafted players)
Green players are free-agent rookies.

I'm not too sure on the actual depth of O-lineman and LBs ... so input would be greatly appreciated. I get so bored this time of year.

Brian Johnston is second on the depth chart at RDE? I'd place him on the other side. Herb Taylor is slated at LT?

I'm not buying Boone at end. I think he will start the season right next to Dorsey.

The depth chart will not be prognosticated upon until Nick Athan says it is so.

Thanks a lot to Direckshun for starting this thread for me, since I can't.

I don't buy the Boone move either but right now that's all I've got to go on. I create this depth chart every year and try to figure out what the chiefs will look like the following season. I live in Toronto though and so I don't get any of the local talk that many of you hear. I have no opportunity to actually see the team over the summer and so I have a hard time placing the 2nd and 3rd stringers. If anyone knows of any positions that I don't have right for sure please let me know and I can update the chart.

Should I put the picture in this post and then keep editing the post? Or should I put the picture in the "last" post every time. What is easier for people to see?

I'm making a couple changes right now, Nate Harris (2nd string MLB) and Dantrell Savage (4th RB). For many of the newer young players (like Johnston) I kind of guessed where I thought they might be, but I don't really know. Any (and all) help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Taylor backed up McIntosh last year so I figure he'll backup Albert this year unless something changes.

Wow, it really is like almost the whole team is new. It's going to be like watching some obscure NFC team (or NFL Europe) for the first couple of weeks of the season.

#26 Jackie Battle is a C and a RB? What? I assume that's a mistake.

I can't imagine Tank backing up Dorsey. They seem like really different players.

Does anyone know who the 2nd string DTs are right now? And who backs up who? Tank behind Edwards?

One's a stud, the other is a dud.

Herb will play either RT or LG this year.

This is only an opinion, so don't make any change until you actually hear from a credible source, BSmac.

As far as FB goes, that really shouldn't be listed as a starting position, since it is likely the 2nd TE and the 3rd WR will get more snaps than the FB. Heck, the Chiefs may not have a singele true FB on the roster.

Since this is a depth chart, that is actually irrelevent.

Where's the nickle back?

Have you ever actually seen a nickle back on a depth chart?

They are all listed as CB.

I'm just saying, listing FBs probably has more to do with tradition than what the Chiefs will actually put on the field. I'd bet we'll run more snaps with a nickle than we will with a FB.

why wouldnt barry richardson be slotted with the RGs? You'd have to think he'd start the season playing that position, since its the position he would actually have a decent shot at starting at.

Yeah, I can see that.

That L is so close to that R.

You're probably right, but as you say, the FB is traditionally listed on depth charts.

The Chiefs O-Line coach, in an interveiw a week and a half/two weeks ago had Richardson at RT.

Heck, the Chiefs may not have a singele true FB on the roster. Right. I've heard that the Chiefs may not carry a FB. They'd carry a 4th TE instead. They may keep Merritt as a FB/TE. Who knows? We'll see what develops in training camp.

Moved Tank. The only people to say Richardson will play RG were speculating. So far RT sounds like his place. Last year the chiefs carried 3 TEs and 2 FBs (depending on where you place Wilson). So this year they could carry 4 TEs and 1 (true?) FB.

Updated.
