Have any of you ever played Goalline Blitz? You create a player in whatever position you want and you try to get on a team and you build your player how you'd like to. I'm hooked on this $hit and I think some of you may enjoy it and it's football so I thought I'd share.

the link:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/signup.pl?ref=3831596

I'll just be honest that I am kind of spamming here because if you sign up through this link I will benefit from it with a referral bonus. But this is a cool site and I honestly think that some of you would enjoy. You level up your player and he gains experience each day and you can add points to the attributes of your choice. My player is a speed LB that I'm trying to get like a Derrick Brooks kind of LB.

I hate to spam, but I do think you'd like it! If you want to sign up but you don't want to hook me up with some flex points than just sign up through their website instead and I won't care.

Games like this are always anti-addictive for me, because I just can't wait to get on with shit. I lost interest around the time my European team suddenly became VY's Austin Alcoholics.

Hahaha, I just logged in and saw an inbox full of contract offers:

Hello there Preston,

I'm the owner of the Tricity Cardinals. We're going to the playoffs with home field advantage with or without any new guys. However, I see you as the new starting CB1 or CB2 (actually your choice at this point) as I am also my own CBs. I need one more CB. That CB will start above my own CBs. I want that guy to be you if you're an active owner. Please check out the Tricity Cardinals.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=844

I hope you'll consider the Cardinals. We're doing well and you'd be a great addition to the starting lineup. I hope you'll let me know if you have any interest or not so I can move on if necessary.

Thanks!Wow, my dude (http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=29988)'s a level 11 now, yet the teams that offered me contracts have higher-rated starters. I wouldn't have let him slack off on training if I knew he'd become a free agent.

thanks everyone for joining. I got some good flex points from all of you which you can only get by buying them or referring people. Once you get going I recommend you do the same thing I did. Let me know if you enjoy this mmorpg, I'm addicted to it. My LB is about to be level 14 and is a pretty solid player on a contending team, it's pretty fun! enjoy!

No problem... I'm always looking for a good addiction.

I made a DE... Currently Level 2. My team was dead last out of 16, but the first scrimmage game I got 52 plays and had 3 tackles including 1 for loss. All more than the 2 "Starting" level 4 DEs.

I really have trouble calling it an addiction as there isn't constant interaction...Not much else I can do until the next game/season. A game a Day would be better.

it takes a while to get your player to be any good. Once you get going, the better he becomes. Tip: don't waste points on special abilities early on. You want to spend 1 point per special ability for every 9 or 10 points spent on attributes. Once your guy starts to level up is when those special abilities become important. Also, don't focus all on 2 or 3 skills. Speed kills in this game but it's good to have a well rounded player. Also stamina is important.

Now you need to decide on what you want to train on every day, that's on your opening player screen. Relaxed costs a lot less but you get less rewards of course. I'd also look into buying equipment (make sure to equip it) as it will give you boosts to your player.

You can buy a team with flex points. Apparently there is a very long waiting list. Sure you could.... might be hard to be competitive playing with friends, after all football is a business.

I propose everyone leave a link to there player so we can track each other and ask for specific position advice. Maybe we could get a list in the OP.

You can spend flex points on the menu up top labeled "flex points" there's a few options in there.

Training is automatic every 24 hours. You choose what you want to train in by clicking home and then clicking on your players name. there's a drop down menu there that let's you choose.

I can't provide a link for this because it's on my teams message board and it wont let you see it, but here are some good tips for building your player:

General Tips

Stamina

Stamina is crucial for any player. It doesn’t matter how good your player is if he is warming the bench. Furthermore, you get XP based on how many plays you play, not what you do during them. So being on the field is key. Here are some specific guidelines:

Offensive players - these do not tire as quickly as defensive players.

Level 1 - 12
Level 2 - 14
Level 3 - 16
Level 4 - 18
Level 5 - 20
etc.

Defensive players - they tire easily so they need a little more.

Level 1 - 14
Level 2 - 16
Level 3 - 18
Level 4 - 20
Level 5 - 22
etc.

Punters and Kickers - these do not tire much at all so they do not need as much stamina.

Level 1 - 8
Level 2 - 8
Level 3 - 9
Level 4 - 10
Level 5 - 11
etc.

All these numbers can be adjusted about a point or two, but if you have, for example, a level 2 C with stamina 30 that is probably a waste at that level.

Special Abilities

Special Abilities enhance your physical attributes. Thus without physical attributes they do not do much. The importance of Special Abilities varies from position to position.

-Very Important (add about 1 Special Ability point for every 3 you put into physical attributes) - K, P

-Important (add about 1 Special Ability point for every 4 or 5 you put into physical attributes) - QB, HB, WR, TE, O-line, D-line

-Not so Important (add about 1 Special Ability point for every 6-8 you put into physical attributes) - LB, CB, SS, FS

Also note that you must fill out the tree in order from left to right. for example, a QB’s Passing tree looks like this:

Pocket Presence -> Tight Spiral -> Pump Fake -> Turn Shoulder -> Field General

You cannot put 1 point in Pocket Presence and 4 points in Tight Spiral. You would have to put 4 points into Pocket Presence before the 4 in Tight Spiral would have any effect. If you notice, when you try to skip a step it says “requisite skill level not met”.

At this early stage in your player's development it is better to pick one tree and focus on it rather than trying to balance it all out between both trees, You can try to balance it, but your player will have a more solid immediate impact if you focus first then add balance later.

Boosting

You can boost your player up to 3 levels per season. You will need flex points to do this, which you can get by either purchasing them or by getting referrals. To do this Click on the Flex Points tab at the top of the page then where it says Level Up a Player, click boost and it will give you a drop down box where you select which player to level up and how many levels (up to 3) you want to boost him. It cost the same amount per level to boost a player as it cost to create him.

Custom Equiptment

You can make a piece of custom equitpment that increases any one attribute or combination of attributes +6. The cost is 100 FPs per +1, so a piece of custom equiptment that is +6 would cost 600 FPs. You can only use 1 piece of custom equiptment so don’t create two for the same player. That would be a waste of FPs.

Positions Guide

Here is a key:

Position Some I have divided into categories (eg.Power vs. Speed/Elusive HB)

Key Physical Attributes: These are the attributes which are the most important for creating a player at this position.
Other Important Physical Attributes: These are the attributes which are important for creating a player at this position, but not as important as the Key Attributes
Special Abilitites: I have grouped this into 3 categories:

-Very Important - Special Abilities are critical for the player's success. Make sure they are filled early and often(add about 1 Special Ability point for every 3 you put into physical attributes) - K, P

-Important - Special abilities are about as important as physical abilities. Pick a tree and add abilities to it regularly (add about 1 Special Ability point for every 4 or 5 you put into physical attributes) - QB, HB, WR, TE, O-line, D-line

-Somewhat Important - You should focus on physical abilities and add special abilities more sparingly (add about 1 Special Ability point for every 6-8 you put into physical attributes) - LB, CB, SS, FS

Other Advice: Any other tips about making this position.
Example of a Good Build: A url of a player at this position. If you post a url of one of your players who is very successful, please be sure to set his Attribute Sharing Option to "Everyone Can View".

ya that would be cool. I think it costs like a 1000 flex points to create their own team, which would only be about $10 or so. It seems to take a lot of time to run one of these teams, but it would be fun to have a Chiefsplanet team. I'll look into it.

On the phog board we have had a team for 2 seasons now, and if I had to suggest one thing for the skill position players(except QB obviously), it would be to put most of your points in speed. Speed is really the thing that makes a difference in the game. If you make your guy average in all of the categories, he is going to be an average player because your catching rating or your confidence rating don't really affect things that much. However, if you are above average in speed but below average in hands, you will still be a very above average player. Once you get into the higher levels everything balances out so everyone is about equal, but in the beginning it is better to have more speed.

They keep getting their pay increased. Right now my guy is at level 18 and he makes 1375 a day, and it only costs $150 during the season for training. We just added luxary suites and endzone seats to the stadium to increase revenue to pay our players even more money.

I'm guessing you just Boosted as training on relaxed at 18 should run you $180 per day. But even with those numbers. You've got the $50k for the level 16 equip? And will have the $200k for the level 24 equip? You'll be 24 early next season if you boost again. I understand helping a team out by signing for a lesser amount, but I'd never lock myself into a 5 season deal making that much.

Yes, I'm fully upgraded as far as level 16 equipment goes. I'll probably be a few dollars short on level 24 equipment, but if I have to wait an extra season to get 3 more skill points, then so be it. I'm not going to significantly better or worse because of it. Hopefully with the new money we have coming in I, along with the rest of the team, will get a big pay raise.

So, realistically how long will it take my level 6 guys to hit 16? I boosted 3 times last season and 2 this season and I am waiting to boost towards the end of the season. If I am a 6 now, what should I expect to be not including my last boost by season end?

If you were wanting to get to a higher level sooner, you should have waited to boost. Exp per game is higher for level 4 than level 6 (assuming both are hitting max plays). I haven't heard exact amounts but I think it was like 5-600 per game for level 1. I'm guestimating my level 4 will average around 300 per game over the season. Add in the daily training xp and I'm hoping level 10 and boosting to 13 by the end of the season. I could boost at the beginning of season 4 to hit 16...or wait again.

By boosting early you may have lost 1/2 to 1 level off that estimate. So early to mid Season 4 to hit 16.

it took my guy 2 seasons. Boost later in the season because as you go up in levels you get less XP from training and playing. The more plays you get in the game, the more XP you get. It doesn't matter what your stats are.

I started a rushing QB. Second string on a CPU team right now to get some experience there.

Here are my current stats:

Physical Attributes Football Skills
Strength: 15 Blocking: 8
Speed: 18 Tackling: 8
Agility: 10 Throwing: 15
Jumping: 10 Catching: 10
Stamina: 13 Carrying: 10
Vision: 15 Kicking: 8
Confidence: 15 Punting: 8

And I took 1 point in On the Run. Bought some equipment, 1 ro raise my speed another, and a couple more to raise agility since I missed putting some in there with my first 15 points.

My DT got 5 tackles and a Hurry on a D league team on 40 something plays. I then signed with another team because my D contract sucked and I couldnt even do much training.

My Center got 3 Pancakes and didnt allow a sack on 51 plays and made 2 tackles on ST's. He is a stud and I am planning on letting him at least finish this season on the D team he is on.

My LB only had 1 tackle on 34 plays. He is a reserve and plays ST's.

If you are on a human owned team ,you can't. You can ask the owner to release you, or renegotiate, but that is their option, they don't have to.

If you are in D-league you can go inactive for 5 days and it will kick you off. Then you can sign a new deal in D-league if you are under level 7. If not you have to sign a contract with a human owned team.

This happened to my first guy by accident and I got a much bigger contract from the CPU team. I'm guessing because I was probably level 3 or 4 then.

Now, I've created two other players though; Do you have to go inactive on your entire account or just not look at the profile of that particular character? I want to get my new C dropped so he can get a 20-30k D league contract but I don't want to go inactive on all my guys.

You have to get a contract offer from a team. This can happen several ways, but the most common is to go to the forums on the GLB site. There are sections of Teams Looking for Players and there are also sections of Players Looking for Teams.

Got your player link? I am always looking for players.

Pancakes are mainly a product of run blocking. However, it has nothing to do really with your calibur of player, just a "skill". The creators of the game just needed something to tally for OLinemen.

Focus on Strenght and Blocking. Get those in the 50+ range and you will become a solid OT. Then increase your Vision.

Dont keep playing because of me, you dont owe me anything. Luckily QB is one of those positions there are way more than enough of. I understand where you're coming from though, if I didnt have anything else to do other than log in and train once a day for a few minutes I would probably be sick of it too.

I was thinking about retiring two of my players just for the fact that they've now taken a backseat to level 40 players and above. Its not that I don't understand the need to better the team and everything....but I've got money put into this for boosting.

At least Chaotic has kept Gore at the front of the depth chart. Even if he did take a backseat....I'd still boost him because he was my first.

My other two guys....who knows what I'm going to do with them.
