That was ****ing insane. The awkward ploys for laughter, the obvious plant leading the smattering of boos from time to time, the fact that none of the people there aside from Bobby Jindal were under the age of 60, his ****ing HORRIFYING smile...
The fact of the matter is, his speech was completely defensive. His slogan is defensive. His entire CAMPAIGN is defensive.
He doesn't have the kind of advantage necessary to win while playing defense.

This lying sack of crap should go to hell....... he attached his bill of rights for terrorists to the defense appropiations act which made it impossible for Bush to veto because that would be saying No to $$ needed for the war in Iraq....
then this slick bastard bashes senator stevens from Alaska for doing the exact same thing McCain did.... Stevens put his ANWR on the defense approiations bill!

McCain is just as inexperienced for the Presidency. They both haven't been president. How can you compare legislative power experience with executive power experience? You really can't. Can the former be an indicator of the latter? Perhaps.
But it really is nothing more than a talking point and as DaKC points out:
Experience is overrated. The Bush administration was touted as one of the most experienced ever and all they did was screw everything up.
And more importantly, that's a person who had his own FATHER as President, which is probably more experience influencing a candidate than any other candidate. And look what he's done. Oh, but wait, that won't work for you because you buy nothing against the administration....or at least most of it.
I thought Obama was above wedge issues and divisiveness. It seems like at every turn he and his people are trying to divide us on racial issues, gender identification issues, or generational issues. When does he start uniting us?
First of all, I am not part of "his people". He's fallen away from me on several issues. I really don't have a candidate but he's WAY better than McCain and light years ahead of the cyborg also known as HRC.
Again, you call this anti-united BS every time he actually defends himself. Yet, simultaneously, you don't accuse McCain of attacking Obama's age which is divisiveness.
There's a difference between divisiveness with respect to the people and divisiveness between campaigns. You have to win your campaign to even attempt uniting. So I really don't see your point yet you keep hammering on, while disregarding the double standard you hold.

First, it's idiotic to suggest that being President is the only relevant experience for the job of being President. Particularly when you follow up just a couple of sentences later by suggesting that being the son of a President is relevant experience. McCain might not have the best resume that's ever been presented by a candidate for President, but it's far superior to that offered by his opponent.
Second, I reject the premise that Bush screwed things up so DaKCMan's argument is a nonstarter with me.

What a resume for McCain. How many times does McCain have to fire somebody off of his campaign for this or that reason, sometimes performance, but most of the time because their experience is potentially embarrassing to a candidate. Maybe you ought not mention resume in the same sentence as McCain because he apparently has never asked for one when he hires anybody.
Wow, what leadership.
Also, since McCain is ostensibly the head of the GOP why did the GOP senators block the Lieberman-Warner bill yesterday.

Obama's incessant usage of his campaign buzzword "Change" is absolutely laughable. He's for change, he wants change. Change is not an idea, it's what I don't give to bums. I've got buckets full of change. What the hell are his ideas? What does he want to change and how? Invariably when I ask an Obamaticon why they support him the answer...change. He keeps peddling his buzzword because these people keep lapping it up like anti-freeze at the petting zoo.
Moreover, the climate change bill that was shot down (thankfully) last week was a complete abortion of a bill. Republicans were happy and eager to debate the bill, they pretty well thrashed it for its epic stupidity in the run up to the mercy killing Reid put on it. When McConnell let his foot off the throat of the Dems by objecting to a unanimous consent request that the bill be considered as read that gave Reid the opportunity to say, "Republicans don't want to debate the bill. I'm going to fill the amendment tree and file for cloture. When cloture fails I'm pulling the bill."
Fundamentally what Reid and Boxer wanted was a week long debate on a bill that is broader in scope than the Clean Air Act (a bill that was debated for over five weeks with 160 amendments) and allow no amendments to the Boxer climate change bill. Yes, the Boxer bill because she offered her bill in the nature of a substitute to the Lieberman-Warner bill. I won't get into the parliamentary procedure of the amendment process, suffice it to say that Reid closed down consideration of any amendments by his procedural tactic.
