Good pitching match-up today. Grienke vs. Chamberlain.

Unfortunately, no. But at least Aviles is starting at SS, again, until Hillman replaces him in the 8th, of course.

I'm not sure you'd be saying he was overhyped if he played for the Royals

Gordon finally gets a hit.

KC has to know Chamberlain is on a tight pitch count. We need to take some pitches and work some counts. I like Greinke throwing up under the chin, although he might get some of our guys killed with Chamberlain.

Hasn't joba been a reliever his entire yankee career and hasnt started much in the minors?

What type of starter do you see him as?

I honestly don't know. I just think it's hard to call a guy who routinely hits 99 on the gun, has a mean hook, and the kind of K/BB rate he has as overhyped. I think he is a legit future star, much the same way we have all thought Greinke has those tools. I know that if he was wearing a Royals jersey, we would all be pretty stoked about having him as a potential starter to go along with Greinke, Bannister, Meche, etc.

Nothing like Hillman playing 1921 NL baseball with Grud up and DDJ at second and no outs to get to 2-2 when our pitcher is getting hammered.

You're likely right, and i am offbase with the overhype, i just can't stand the yankees and i just want the royals to rip him a new one. I personally would've left him in the pen all year and started him next year starting, but im not the yankees...i think he will struggle for awhile, esp pitch count wise

He seems to be their version of Soria, could be a future closer or start...i personally would rather keep soria at closer

btw nice job there teahen!!!:shake:

I wonder if Guillen might not be the best option in the #3 spot? It seems like Teahen and Gordon have been overwhelmed mentally by this role in the lineup, and we know that Guillen doesn't lack confidence.

KCUnited

Jose Guillen - just a breakdown. 2-2 count, he fouls off a 101 mph fast ball. The next pitch he knows is going to be a hook in the dirt, sure enough, hook in the dirt, Guillen doesn't even flinch at it. Next pitch, mistake, bye-bye. He's finally starting to come around.

Maybe this:

DeJesus LF

Aviles SS
Gathright CF

Not a bad lineup, sounds good to me if you are going to put guillen somewhere else.

man just needs to get runners on in fron of him

Teahen and Gordon need to be in roles where they're asked to focus on hitting line-drives, not homeruns.

The other reason why Guillen at #3 might make sense is that he'll get more ABs over the course of the season.

David DeJesus has that same dumbass smile and laugh every time he screws up. Combine that with the fact that dipshit thinks he need to be blowing bubbles all the time instead of concentrating on the game and he makes for one of my least favorite Royals.

Nothing says "Hey look at me" more than that jackass when he is blowing bubbles. If I were the manager I would rip him a new one for it. Can't stand that jackass.

They way I see it at this point there are only three major league hitters on the team. Guillen, Grudz and Olivo. I think Olivo would hit 25 dingers if he played every day.

I would just move Gordon down to 8th and make him take the first pitch every at bat for a month or so. Maybe that way he would know what a strike really looks like.

I understand why you find DeJesus annoying, but there's no question that he's a ML hitter.

Grudz has been great for the Royals, but I really hope we're able to trade him before the deadline. Try to get something for him and get Callaspo on the field for the rest of the season. Grudz, unfortunately, isn't in the plans for the future.

Or make him do push-ups everytime he wraps around an outside pitch. He won't be successful until he decides it's ok to use all fields. That's frustrating me right now because he has the talent to adjust.

His one full year that he actually played without missing games due to bruised labia he only hit .260. This year he is hitting better and the years he always got hurt he was hitting in the .290s but those were short season numbers. I suppose they could have been worse. It is hard for me to give him any credit as I think he is an ass and seems to never gut through any injury. Maybe does gut through it and we just don't know. What I do know is he was well on his way to being a no power Sweeney until last year.

I don't disagree that he doesn't seem to be a very tough player. Best example of this is when KC gave up the five-run lead in the 9th earlier this year. DeJesus left the game because of hives, ****ing hives, putting Gload in RF, and he wasn't able to run down what should have been a routine out.

Guillen is playing on one leg, but hives knock DeJesus from the game. That's almost unforgivable. :shake:
