Kansas-Missouri football game Nov. 29 will be during the day

No evening chill for the Kansas-Missouri football game at Arrowhead Stadium in December.

The Border Showdown on Nov. 29 will kick off at either 11:30 a.m. or 2 p.m., and be televised on Fox Sports Net.

The kickoff time might not be locked in until a week before the game.

Last year’s Kansas-Missouri game at Arrowhead started at 7 p.m., and matched the nation’s second- and third-ranked teams. The game, on ABC, became the year’s highest rated regular-season contest.

Kansas also announced that its Sept. 6 home contest against Louisiana Tech will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net. All of the Jayhawks’ non-league games in Lawrence will begin at 6 p.m.

I saw they moved the KU-USF game to Friday night at 8pm. I'll be there for that one.

That sucks. It will suck even more if both teams are top 5 again.

This rivalry and that atmosphere makes it real hard to not make it the Saturday night game. Fox must have shelled out a boatload full of cash for the rights.

Highly unlikely.

Meh. If it ends up being the biggest draw of any game that weekend, they can change it back to prime time just as easily. Doesn't matter to me. I'm going regardless of when it's played.

Exactly. People forget last year it was supposed to be on FSN until the final week when ABC stepped in and took the rights to the game. It will be the same situation this year.

There are three main differences between last year and this year: @USF, @OU, Texas.

I wasn't saying the the game will mean as much last year. I was directing that post at people who are saying "oh no, if KU MU is a huge game again we are stuck at 11 am and no chance of it moving anywhere". If it is a big game it will be in prime time, if it isn't, it won't be.

doesn't really matter to me. I am sure there will be a bigger game to be in primetime to watch when both programs come back to earth. I will be there either way. Atleast I can come back and watch more games without wasting my whole day and night

Having that game at night was a great atmosphere, but I'm sure it will be close to what it was last year.

There will be exactly 50 KU fans there this year. Think about it...they had a shot at winning the North last year and MANY of their douchebag fans were scalping their tix to Mizzou fans. This year, they will almost certainly not have as good a record (look at their schedule...hello Oklahoma!) and hoops season will already be going. Plenty of good seats available courtesy of Kansas.

I was referring to the nov 29th game, but this is very useful as well :)

I assume the border showdown is gone?

Sorry about that. I'm not sure when those tickets go on sale or if they already have. You can call the MU ticket office at 573-884-7297 or 1-800-228-7297(1-800-CAT-PAWS) and I'm sure they could tell you.

I love how you guys act like you're Nebraska circa 1995.

Plenty of KU fans would prefer other things than watching a football game with 50,000 drunk/meth-afflicted Mizzou fans that, win or lose, behave like they've never won anything in sports....... oh, I guess they haven't, have they?

I'll be there...with a couple of my MU friends, regardless of if we're a 3 loss team or a 1 loss team. It's gonna be a good time regardless. At least if we're getting slaughtered I have delicious beer to take me away...

:spock: They're allowed to serve beer at that game?

Mizzou is set up to be a national power for awhile, KU will fall back to earth though.

Well, there would have been 50,000 meth afflicted queer beaker fans at the game last year, but they all sold their tickets because they knew they were going to lose.

I also love how some think football was born in Lawrence 9 months ago... 80%+ the past few years isn't bad for a school that supposedly only accepts students that watch and know basketball.

I was at KU this past weekend for a football camp, and Mangino spoke to everyone and we met him. I think the guy has lost a few lbs. It's not like it's terribly noticeable, but it seemed like his hands could touch in front, which was a change.

it has been reported that he has lost weight. many rumors out there of him having a surgical procedure done as well.

I don't buy that he had a procedure. Those are pretty drastic in their results, and I'm talking about 20-30 pounds... not that much at all.
