On my podcast, the "Chiefs Endzone Show" we do poll questions every week. Next Tuesday I will talk about this poll question and who got how many percent of the votes. I put a poll question up for my website and I'll do one on this website since this is the site with Chiefs fans :D

Vote who you think will be the #2 WR in week one. State who you voted and why!

Darling just because I don't think Franklin will be ready yet

LMAO.....our WR's are ****ing awful outside of Bowe.

That list makes me laugh. Seriously though, I wonder if opposing defenses think the same?

Here's what I'd like to see:
Dwayne Bowe
Will Franklin
Devard Darling
Jeff Webb
Kevin Robinson

Yes, you've see it correctly. There's no Bobby Sippio (the man, the myth, the legend) on my list. Sorry.

I don't know what order Will Franklin, Devard Darling & Jeff Webb will be in. But, that's the 5 WR's I'd like to see the Chiefs keep this season.

Being a Mizzou fan, I'd like Franklin to make a strong showing for it, but I think Darling's experience puts him the #2 spot for the time-being.

won't have it the full 16 games

Yeah--the Question was meant to say who will be the #2 WR in week 1. My bad

Darling as #2 the #3 slot should get interesting

i said webb because i think he made great strides from last season and this being his 3rd year, which is usually the year that a WR makes a biggest stride.

I'd like to see him and Franklin battle it out in camp/preseason. Webb seemed to be a 1/2 step short of some great plays. I think it was the Green Bay game that he likely would have won for us if he could have kept both feet in bounds.

Stuff like that you can learn from and overcome.

When I was at practice Saturday, Sippio (and Webb) both were droppin easy passes. The ball was thrown right to their hands..

I would bet Sippio doesn't make the team this yearBlasphemy!

How dare you speak about our Football Lord and Savior, Bobby Sippio like that. Not only will he make the team, I'd be willing to bet he'll be starting QB, RB, and our #1 WR. He'll take the snap and hand off to himself, then do a flea-flicker to himself...and bomb a 70 yarder downfield to himself in stride.

Don't forget he will kick the extra point. This is true...but it's Bobby Sippio we're talking about. They're not just gonna let him kick a 20 yard extra point, to be fair, he ought to at least kick a 85 yarder.

Devard Darling for my money.

The slot is anyone's guess.
Webb hasn't distinguished himself and I doubt he will.
Sippio's been invisible as well.

Hopefully Franklin can step in and make a contribution.

All of this makes me wonder why we didn't make an attempt to sign Adarius Bowman. We have NOTHING in the cupboard at that spot.

Been hearing that the Jags may cut Matt Jones during training camp. We know Herm likes BIG WR's. Could be an option.
Shit, maybe he could be our QB, didn't he play that in college?

I see no way that someone we obtain in the '09 offseason will be the #2 receiver for the Chiefs in '08, unless you're talking about an opposing corner.

I'm contending we aren't really going to have a #2 WR in 2008. We'll line someone up in the spot, but he'll just be a place holder because we couldn't replace two-thirds of the roster in one year. I'm okay with that. This is a rebuild after all.

Micjones

We absolutely could've added a legitimate #2 option.
The team just chose not to.

Yeah. we should have thrown money on free agents so that a team that isn't going anywhere this year could maintain it's standard of mediocrity.

Micjones

Yeah. we should have thrown money on free agents so that a team that isn't going anywhere this year could maintain it's standard of mediocrity.

God knows the Wide Receiver couldn't have acclimated himself to the offense this year and once we're in a better position next season really help fuel a recovered offense.

Having reliable pass-catching options also wouldn't help our young QB to develop either.

This isn't the team with more cap space than any other team in the NFL.

No, the answer is simply to do nothing at all...
That's the kind of message that young players need the keepers of their franchise to give them.
Just mail it in boys!!!

The reason why this team is in such bad shape ISN'T because we're devoid of talent in certain areas on the team. And identifying real solutions at those spots wouldn't help us...well...win.

I'd rather take my chances with Darling, Webb, or Franklin than sign some Darrell Jackson type that offers absolutely nothing to a team like the Chiefs. They only way to find out if these kids can play is to play them and see what happens not let them rot behind a stop-gap.

There were young, proven Wide Receivers available in Free Agency that would've been much more than stop-gaps.

Depending on middle-round picks, underachievers, and undrafted players at Wide Receiver is how we got in this position to begin with.

edit-make that Receiving Coprs rated

#25. Kansas City Chiefs
New offensive coordinator Chan Gailey will implement a run-heavy system that will try to take pressure off QB Brodie Croyle. In the passing game, though, TE Tony Gonzalez is the Chiefs' primary target. Second-year wideout Dwayne Bowe is poised to become the big-time No. 1 receiver the Chiefs need, however. Bowe is athletic for a player of his size, showing great balance and body control, natural route-running skills and good receiving skills, though he must become more consistent with his hands. There is a big-time dropoff after Bowe, however, with no proven full-time contributors behind him. Devard Darling, Jeff Webb, and rookies Will Franklin and Kevin Robinson will compete for roles within the structure of the offense.
