My first tornado siren of the year just ended.

It's amazing how accustomed you get to it. When I moved here a decade or so ago, I used to be terrified. Now it's like "siren. huh. Let's surf the 'net."

It's absolutely POURING rain here in OP right now. 'course, it's one of my favorite sounds in the world, so I have everything off, TV, radio, etc. No more sirens tonight, though.

I'm actually envious of that part. We don't get very many good storms around here.

On the other hand, it's about 60 degrees outside, and I've probably only had my AC on twice so far this year, so that's a plus.

Weatherchoppers were showing tornadoes dip down and retreat back into the clouds, over near DeSoto. Don't think anything got torn up by them, but it's enough to set the sireens off. 4 inch hail reported in Bonner Springs, that'll raise a lump.

Yeah, we don't exactly have a lot of humidity here. 14 percent right now.

sirens are going off in town

my house is on a slab, no basement...no outside storm shelter.

just a couple trees, unless i want to jump into the pond and hold my breath for a few minutes.

At the risk of sounding like a weather nerd...as long as the storms stay linear -- in a long like this -- they'll have a tough time producing tornadoes.

The only remotely exciting thing that has happened here in Olathe is that lightning hit the woods behind my house and freaked the hell out of all the animals.
