7.5 to be exact, according to this letter I received today. They say my loan is ready! What should I do with this windfall?

And what is this "29.99 percent interest rate" ? Is that good or should I hold out for more? 29.99 seems like a low number.

Grab that deal and run. That's a good interest rate.

I'll loan you $10,000 interest free. But, I would read the fine print, if I were you.

You should borrow the money and then stand outside the payday loan place and loan it back out at 59.98 percent. You'll make a fortune.

I wonder what the pricing structure is for male prostitutes compared to female prostitutes. My instinctive reaction is that they should be cheaper, because the demand for male prostitutes is presumably a lot lower (fewer gay men than straight men, and fewer women trolling for men).

However, it's possible that supply and demand tend to stabilize, which would mean that you would have fewer male prostitutes since most of them otherwise couldn't pay their rent and insurance and condom bills. Also, I figure that women are more likely to enter the profession since it's tradtionally a female occupation like nursing or teaching, albeit with more fake moaning.

On the other hand, though, I doubt that many people put together a business plan before starting up a prostitution business. This means that you probably have a lot of people entering the profession and driving down prices and wages temporarily before they cycle out and the next generation cycles in. If men and women are equally likely to start such a business, one would expect more competition on the male side, which would drive down pricing.

I also wonder if any of them have a "frequent flyer" program. Buy 12 sessions and get the next one free. I would think that that type of system would be successful, but then again maybe repeat business isn't an issue. While a patron might like a change of pace, much like frequenting more than one restaurant, I could also see a strong incentive for repeat business if you didn't get AIDS the first time. If you have strong repeat business, I would think that a frequent flyer program wouldn't be a good business strategy.

Just like the payday loan place though, half the people won't pay the money back. Ever.

I guess I'm the only one who has an interest in prostitute economics.

Personally, I would suppose male prostitution on average to be more lucrative than female, at leat in terms of ticket average. The female prostitute is often dealing with a client who has many financial responsibilities - a wife and children and all the expenses that come with them - where the male prositute's client might have a great deal more disposable income. As to the male prostitute's clients who have families, they would likely be more than willing to pay a premium price for a high level of discretion.

Of course, in terms of gross sales, the female prostitutes would post much higher numbers. It's sort of like comparing Walmart to a boutique in Soho.

I find it hard to believe there is any market at all for male prostitutes. I've seen enough water buffaloes running around with kids to know that regardless of how a woman looks all she has to do is spread her legs and somebody will jump in for free.

You think that's good? Not only have I won a lottery in Indonesia (I think), I have yet ANOTHER Nigerian wanting to give me $18,000,000! I remember when $7,500 was a lot of money. Vaguely.
