Should be a good one. Im currently searching the net for someplace I can watch this for gratis'. ;) Rampage vs Forrest should be a good fight...looking down the card there are alot of good matchups of very good fighters even though they may not be big name fighters just yet. LET'S get it ON, C'MON!

This fight is one of the few that've lived up to the hype so far. I'd never proclaim to be an expert when it comes to MMA, but I would've liked to see Forrest be a little craftier during the third round, and instead he basically gave it away with his lack of aggression.

Unbelievably bad decision. Clearly Griffin got a 10-8 round in the 2nd, but for the scoring to be 48-46, 48-46, and 49-46 that means Griffin won 3 rounds in 2 judges eyes and 4 in another? No way. I'm a Griffin fan and I think this was fishy. Other than the 2nd round domination, the only other real point scorer for Griffin was the attempted triangle. I just don't get it. Reminds me of the Tito v. Griffin fight when Griffin got screwed.

I think in a normal non-title fight Griffin would have won but I agree with whoever posted it earlier that to WIN a title you have to TAKE it from the champ and I don't feel that Griffin did that. Not a terrible decision but it was a very close fight except for round 2 where I agree that Forrest may have gotten a 10-8 rd. Rampage rocked him good in the first and rd's 3-5 were pretty even. BUT this fight kind of emphasizes what some in MMA have been saying...rampage is very beatable, especially if you get him on the ground. Standing toe to toe with him is a mistake for any fighter but Forrest showed that Rampage is clueless on his back.

I am not sure what everyone is so upset about. Forrest definately got a 2 point round in the 2nd. he definately won the 5th. The other 3 were close and could have went either way. Forrest did win the fight, that's the bottom line.

It's going to be a really hard division to defend. Forrest has come a long way.

After the first round I think Griffin really fought his fight. If you rewatch it without sound, which helps lose some of the hype, and score it on striking (for Rampage fans, strikes that land count - they don't have to be power shots) including kicks, aggression, octagon control, Griffin wins.

Here is a quote from Sherdog that pretty much sums up how I see it:

Round 1:
Jackson takes this round primarily because of the big knockdown. I can not see how Forrest could win this round when he got knocked down like that but i cant give Rampage a 10-8 for that round. Forrest imo pushed the pace and landed a greater number of shots before and after the knockdown so he wasnt dominated to the point for a 10-8 round for Jackson.
10-9 Jackson

Round 2:
All Griffin. Rampage did nothing this round. Great leg kicks and ground work by Forrest total domination regardless of what Rampage was doing (resting or whatnot) Forrest gets this round. Complete domination so i give this...
10-8 Griffin

Round 3:
After the first viewing i gave this round to Rampage however after the next two viewings i believe that Griffin took this round. Rampage did land a few powerful shots one in particular wobbled Griffin. Forrest on the other hand pushed the pace the whole round and landed more shots especially later in the round he seemed to block most of Rampage's punches and landed a lot himself. Forrest's aggression won him this round in my book. therefore
10-9 Griffin

Round 4:
Another really close round. I gave this round to Rampage. He was very aggressive and seemed to get the better of most of the exchanges on the feet. Especially in the early seconds of the round rampage was very aggressive and landed some good hard shots. He also ended up on top after a failed trip by Forrest. Forrest did have a very deep triangle but he escaped/slammed out of it and landed some good shots as Griffin got back up. Overall i think this round goes to Rampage.
10-9 Rampage

Round 5:
Griffin wins round 5. He landed significantly more shots and definitely pushed the pace this round. Griffin was more aggressive and had more effective strikes.
10-9 Griffin

WINNER:
Forrest Griffin 48-46

It's almost better to watch it without volume. Goldberg is an idiot. I bet Rogan gets sick and tired of having to correct him all the time.

I have the exact sentiments, Goldberg is a dunce with a good radio voice and Rogan really knows his stuff. I dislike Goldberg almost as much as Larry Merchant on HBO boxing.

Koscheck looked good too. Booooooooooooooo, what was that all about?

I am sure not a fan of Kos but he is very impressive. He has all the tools and completely dominated one of the most well rounded 170 pounders in Lytle.

I don't think Forrest did enough to win the title to be honest.

**** the scoring. You have to earn the belt. There were many times in that fight where Forrest almost got dumped on his ass and Rampage couldnt finish it off.

Sorry, but that is just stupid. It would be like saying screw the score, Memphis had a better season and KU did not do enough to win the Title, so Memphis wins.

Funny, I just came back from jiu-jitsu and after class we watched it again. Everyone there thought Forrest definately won. LMAO Hell even Rampage admitted he got beaten.

Sorry for getting off topic a bit here.

I forgot this dudes name and all.
But is that one big black street (real life) fighter going to fight in the UFC sometime?

What is his status on that, anyone know?

Before the fight they were interviewing several of Rampages friends and family members and they estimated he probably had over 200 street fights in high school. Is HE the one your referring to? ;)

Kimbo Slice?

Yes, thats him.

Last i seen he was suppose to be training to do this professionally. (UFC i guess)

Is that true? And has he had any fights yet?

I am not sure what everyone is so upset about. Forrest definately got a 2 point round in the 2nd. he definately won the 5th. The other 3 were close and could have went either way. Forrest did win the fight, that's the bottom line.

It's going to be a really hard division to defend. Forrest has come a long way.

What's with the fans? Worst of the worst.

I just watched it again, and to me Griffin clearly won the fight. I can't believe true mma fans are upset about it. It is like they are totally ignoring all the kicks Griffin landed.

I have heard people refer to how beat up Forrest's face was as proof that Rampage won, but after the Rogan interview, Rampage could barely walk out of the ring.

Griffin fought a great fight. When they were waiting for the decision, Jackson clearly looked like he knew he had lost. Then in the post fight, in-ring interview Rampage acknowledged that Forrest won the fight.

It was not until his trainer convinced him that he should have won, that he changed his tune in the presser. His trainer actually said that the first round should have been 10-8 for Jackson, even though for 3:50 of the round was dominated by Griffin.

Side Notes: Jackson's trainer said he would retire if Griffin won. During season 7 of TUF, Rampage said he would bet his entire purse that the fight would not go to a decision. OOOPS.

He is 3-0 fighting under Bas Rutten and fighting in Elite XC. He hasn't really fought anybody yet.

I give all due credit to Griffin but this was definitely a case of Rampage's guys underestimating the opponent. Griffin looked very good and he exposed Rampage's weaknesses.

Griffen has come a very long in a very short period of time from a talent standpoint. It's kind of scary to think where he may get in the next 3 years. He is going to be battle tested for sure.

Whoever said that definitely has never seen FG fight. That guys is ALWAYS bloody/lumpy after a fight. That's his trademark: beat the hell up but tough enough to whip the other guy's ass for a victory.

He's not ready. He would get his ass handed to him in the UFC, Pride, and/or K1.
