3 of the top 8, Stram @ 8, Marty @ 4, and Vermiel @2, second only to the no-brainer Lombardi.

So this team has a long history of being well-motivated, but not champions [well, Stram was a champ, . . . before I was born ;)].

Guess in those terms, that's the biggest indictment of CP. He choses the right leader, but fails to assemble a complete squad for him. Guess that's why I'm cautiously giddy that Herm [an honorable mention for the list] appears to have changed his thinking. Jimmy Johnson, Bill Walsh, Bill Bellichik, no where near the list because they assembled talent that motivated themselves. Let's hope we're heading there.

Just get the Arrowhead renovations done so Carl can leave. the fact he has less responsiblity for Football related things is a big plus.

Hmmmm. What a funny deal. I've never been in the locker room before a game, but I would have bet that Hank was a better motivator than DV. At a minimum, his results seem to indicate that. Not to mention the fact that big, giant, fierce, black men respond well to short, dumpy, white guys wearing blazers and club ties.

Vermeil at No. 2? WTF? What'd he do to motivate anyone, threaten to cry if they don't get it right?

I think that was based on the miracle in Philly, and the minor miracle in St.Louis, more than the inkling of David Blaine sidewalk sleight of hand in KC, that got him there.

And it's top 10 motivational, not successful, or smart, or genious, or strategic, or draft-savvy, coaches.
