Because if I make up for the shortcomings of some of my other people for a waitress I might end the stereotype. That waitress (or waiter) might take care of the next black patron. Plus on first glance... I dress like a damn bum most of the time so when we go out it's usually me & my wife with the 4 kids. I feel like if they didn't prejudge me and gives me excellent service despite the odds of them not getting a good tip (black family, bummy dressing dad w/ 4 kids) then I'll teach them a leseson to not judge a book by its cover.

Same concept as the guy that opened the door or acts nice to blacks while in the hood. He's trying to make a difference and show that not ALL people are like what he's "prejudged" to be.

Great ?

If the bitch(waitress)or bastard(waiter) is a racist, your extra $3 is not gonna change that.

My question is, why you give a rat's ass what some waitress, or anybody else thinks of you.

Get over it. Yeah the world's got some problems. People are not perfect, but a lot of the racism you find, is in your head. Kind of like a perceived "black hole".

Yeah... it's all in my head. I have no black friends. I've never met my family or just shoot the shit with everyday black people. I'm sorry I brought it up because I obviously have no idea what I'm talking about.

I apologize.

Actually, here's a perfect example...

You guys remember the Michael Jordan's girlfriend thread?
And how you guys thought that it was full of racist banter?

Well that's what you're really dealing with.
I'm sorry if you guys have your blinders on.
Check the thread out in the pic thread.

Dude, I guarandamntee 95% of black people 30+ think most whites are very capable of being racist.
Do I care about racism? No. Have I directly experienced it in my adult life? No.
Do I worry my ass of if one is racist or not? No.

Just throwing it out there.

Wow. What a joke. Who would have thought a simple scientific term like, "Black Hole" would generate so much controversy. The good thing is this will get people to converse about race, the bad thing is that John Wiley Price and Judge Thomas Jones are going to need to attend grade school science courses.

The guy should have said ' Yea, I'm sorry............sorry your parents didn't have any children with common sense".

What a fugging joke. My money says the offended individual is trying to Sharpton his way to the top.

If I was black I would want to beat those clowns for being ....well clowns :hmmm:

That's just it... AA kinda takes the racism slant out of hiring practices by forcing traditionally white establishments to diversify.

I know people think AA isn't right but how else would the playing field be level when (my figures) 90% of CEO's, directors, etc are probably the stereotypical white male who'd otherwise tend to hire their own?

I think AA is a way to level the playing field. It's not so bad that 1-2 black people (out of 100's of jobs being offered) get preferential treatment when their qualifications are just as good as the next man (no matter what color). But if their qualifications are inferior to the other man's then i'd have a problem with that as well.

I can see how some people would have a positive view of Affirmative Action. However, I think the best practice is to hire the most qualified individual. Race shouldn't be a factor. Using race to select or disqualify an applicant is racist in and of itself. I know that there is a, "good ole boys" club as you stated, when it comes to CEO's and upper management. Getting admitted to this club has much more to do with social status and wealth than race. Also, as many of us already know, it's not what you know, it's who you know. Frankly, I think there are many ways one can improve employment opportunities in the African American community.

First off it starts with education. Many black and white inner city kids don't get a shot at a decent education. Inner city schools are filled with out dated textbooks, teachers who only work there as a last resort and drugs/violence. These children go to schools that resemble prisons. So what is the answer? It is quite complicated. More funding would go a long way, but these impoverished folks need to want to rid their communities of these negative elements and to improve overall themselves. It would do no good to pour millions of dollars to improve the aesthetics of the neighborhood and school system if people don't want to change.

Another problem facing too many children of all races, is being born into single parent households. Many men are failing to live up to their obligations (insert Travis Henry joke here) and are skiping out on their responsibilities for whatever reasons. Sometimes it is imprisionment, sometimes death, sometimes they just don't give a damn or want the responsibility. Studies show that kids who are the product of single parent households are more likely to be poor students. Kids will be more apt to act out and let their grades slip without their parents taking an interest in them and their school work. It is extemely difficult for single parents who have to work a full time job and raise children on their own.

Finally, I think role models play a huge part in one's success. Studies do show that black children are more likely to idolize sports figures and entertainers. While white children are more likely to idolize doctors, lawyers, and politicians. The problem of course lies in the fact that it is much easier to be a lawyer or doctor than it is to be the next Jay Z or Michael Jordan. Just my thoughts.

Correction... Do I care that there are racist people? Not really. Do I wish it were rid of? Yes.

I don't necessarily care about it because I don't feel it's a roadblock for me.But I do feel like it can or has been for others. But even though I'm the type of person that thinks of other ways to bypass issues I still shouldn't have to because of my color.

Other people may have a different view and want to buck the system while I prefer to think that there's more than one way to skin a cat.

my dad is/was an alcoholic, albeit a functioning alcoholic who always had a job. my parents were both potheads until a few years ago (I think--they may still be). they lost their house because my mom is disabled (but not on disability, can't keep a job) and my dad isn't great with money. I'm putting myself through school, have worked full-time since I was fifteen years old, etc. every f*cking thing that I have I've earned with my two hands and my back. f*ck your silver spoon. I've had NOTHING handed to me, nor do I expect it. my relatives never owned slaves, they were poor southern cr@ckers who could barely afford a f*cking mule. so you can take your entitlement and shove it up your ass.

As long as there are laws in place that dictate how an employer looks at a potential employee based on race there is racism. Period. AA sounds good but it is perpetuating the problem.

Global White Population to Plummet to Single Digit—Black Population to Double

The big population story of the 21st Century is shaping up to be the status reversal of whites and blacks and the Indian baby boom
As a percentage of world inhabitants, the white population will plummet to a single digit (9.76%) by 2060 from a high-water mark of 27.98% in 1950.

Using 2010 as the base reference, the big gainer in the population derby will be blacks or sub-Sahara Africans. This group will expand almost 133% to 2.7 billion by 2060. By the middle of this century blacks will represent 25.38% of world population, which is up dramatically from the 8.97% they recorded in 1950.

The other groups measured in the study were the Central Asians (Indians), East Asians (Chinese and Japanese), the Southeast Asians, Arabic (North Africa and the Middle East), and Amerindian-Mestizo (Mexican and Central America). All these groups will experience a population growth. The Chinese/Japanese and Indians will trade rankings and the relative global presence of the other groups will remain more or less constant.

The big population story of the 21st Century is shaping up to be the status reversal of whites and blacks and the Indian baby boom. A side bar will be the single digit minority role that whites will assume. Of the 7 population groups studied, only whites are projected to sustain an absolute decline in numbers.

In 1950 whites and blacks were respectively 27.98% and 8.97% of world population. By 2060 these figures will almost reverse as blacks surge to 25.38% and whites shrink to 9.76%. From 2010 the white population will decline while blacks will add 1.2 billion to their numbers. In this time frame the the Indian subcontinent will gain 1.2 billion people. These groups and their governments will be looking for elbow room, and the diminished presence of whites in Europe, and especially in the relatively wide open spaces North America, will provide such an opportunity. Specifically, countries like Canada, the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, and Russia can expect to be pressured to accept collectively hundreds of millions of refugees from India, and sub-Sahara Africa.

What does Europe teach us? They face an even bigger problem. Part 2
They're respectable, wealthy, well-raised and educated. They know history, speak different languages and travel. They hold high posts at banks, financial corporations and law offices. These are the new European nationalists

A short description of our first installment: Ethnic battles are erupting in the heart of the EU. Belgium’s Flemings and Walloons are fighting among themselves and hoping to split the country in two. At the same time, Arab emigrants are fleeing to Belgium en masse. Will Belgium face another Kosovo scenario?

“The most popular child’s name in Brussels and Antwerp is ‘Mohammed,’” said Mia Doornaert, diplomatic editor at the Flemish paper Standaard. “I don’t have anything against emigrants if they’re willing to work and integrate into the local community. But that’s not what’s happening. We’re being forced to feed them. Arab emigrants hide from the police in our churches, which in turn refuse to kick them out. That’s just how things are here. Why don’t they go and hide in their mosques? And it’s impossible to print even one word about emigrants in the press without being called a racist.”

“It’s hard to imagine that Belgian residents are ready to mix their ancient Christian blood with the Arabs,” I said emotionally. “And your nation’s heroes commanded the first and only successful Crusade and freed Jerusalem!”

It turned out my passion was contagious. “You’re absolutely right!” she said. “Europe shouldn’t forget about its Christian history. I think the EU made an unforgivable mistake by removing the clause about our Christian roots in the Constitution. I always respected Pope John Paul II. He was a good person, but why did he decide to apologize for the Crusades! The Muslims started conquering our Christian shrines first. They captured Jerusalem and Constantinople — a large Christian center. Europe didn’t receive any apology from the Muslims for seizing our shrines. Why should the Christians feel guilty? In a global world where borders between peoples are being removed, it’s important for people to know where they came from and where they are going. People need an identity. I’m Flemish and I’m proud of my people’s history. The Walloons call our national feelings ‘folklore.’ But it’s not folklore. It’s our sense of self.”

Promoting genocide for whites? Noel Ignatiev and the culture of Western suicide

Part of a long tradition that has opposed white interests and identity — the culture of critique that has become the culture of Western suicide.

There has been a renewed interest recently in a 2002 article by Paul Craig Roberts, actually the first of two (here is the second), drawing attention to a rather frightening phenomenon at Harvard University: the effort by a professor, Noel Ignatiev, and his journal, Race Traitor, to promote the “cultural and psychological genocide of whites.”

Now that’s an odd choice of words—guaranteed to draw attention to himself and his ideas. Was he in any way also promoting the slaughter/liquidation of whites, as some of his adversaries have suggested? Ignatiev says no. In his words,

We frequently get letters accusing us of being “racists,” just like the KKK, and have even been called a “hate group.” …

Our standard response is to draw an analogy with anti-royalism: to oppose monarchy does not mean killing the king; it means getting rid of crowns, thrones, royal titles, etc….

Ignatiev et al. have developed a story that goes as follows: A bunch of very bad people got together and created a category called “white” to which they belong but people with different colored skin can’t belong. Then they made laws that favored people in the white category, they colluded with other whites to dominate the economic and political process, and they invented baseless scientific theories in which whiteness had its roots in real biological differences.
