Figured it didn't. I saw this pic posted on another forum a while back and saved it. Seemed the perfect place to post.

Besides, those graphics are awful. They look like 360 graphics. :hmmm:

Anyways - i'll say this much. I played Metal Gear on the NES and a little of Metal Gear Solid on PS1. I wasn't terribly interested in playing this game but I got it bundled with my system, and man, it is pretty damn good. The story is engrossing and the gameplay is excellent. My only complaint with it is the amount of cutscenes to actual game play, but there is quite a bit of replay value.

What is the worst of the language? Also, any sexual situations in it?

considering the deal, I might give it a shot since the ratings for it are through the roof.

Maybe 1 or two f-bombs, a few shits here and there. Overall it's not bad. Sexual situations, one of the female characters pulls a guy in to a vehicle with the intent to jump his bones but you don't see anything.

There are plenty of shits - including one of your teammates who has explosive diarrhea throughout the game.

I only own a select few games.

Gears of War, Halo 3, Tiger Woods, COD4, Oblivion(never really played) and Madden.

I just don't see the point of dropping $50-60 on a game like MGS4 that probably wouldn't have any replay value for me and I'm assuming doesn't offer some sort of online multiplayer. Am I the only one that feels this way. I'd rather drop $5 and rent it over a weekend, than spend $50, beat it once, maybe go back through one more time and then sell it to Gamestop for $20 a couple weeks after it comes out.

The only game in recent memory I've played through the campaign more than once was Gears, but that's only because I played on Hardcore, then went to Insane, then went back through and Co-oped Insane with a friend.

Tend to agree with you there Gonzo. It's not very often you see a game getting consistent 9.8s though.

I will probably just wait until this thing drops to $30 now though.

FYI, it does offer multiplayer.

Not at all.

Since I subscribed to Gamefly about a year ago, I've opted to rent the large majority of single player-centric games I otherwise would've purchased before joining.

I don't regret buying MGS4 because I was anticipating its release for quite a while, but looking at it practically, I would've been better suited to wait for it to arrive from Gamefly. Not that it doesn't warrant a purchase for the majority of people (it is a fantastic game), but in my case I beat it in about 3 days and will likely not have the urge to play it again for another year.

Depends on the game for me. If i know a company that makes great games but is not really a popular company, i will buy the game to help the developer. I have no problem with that. Imo, if a game is that good, i will buy the game. In the end they are the ones making the game, if they arent around to make it, then we have no game.

I'll spot you Gears of War..there rest of those aren't even exclusive to my knowledge. Although I wouldn't play CoD4 on a console, I literally can't stand playing any FPS on a console. Keyboard and mouse for me...

I'll agree with you though that games are kind of expensive for titles you will only play once or twice. MGS4 does offer multi player that they will expand upon, and is actually quite fun, and the game is pretty short if you skip the cut scenes, and there are quite a few things to unlock if you go through it achieving certain goals.

The first Halo is the game that won my loyalty to MS.

Playing the Silent Cartographer for the first time was just amazing. Can't replace the feeling, it was an epic gaming moment.

And that's just my beef with dropping $50, you say MGS4 is pretty short, so I'm assuming it's an easy weekend type of game. And I understand, some people like their FPS on a computer, but the last time I really played a FPS on a computer was like 8 years ago with Rainbow Six.

For some reason I didn't even see Halo typed in there. Of course, Halo is also on the PC. ;)

Total playtime for MGS4 for me was 18 hours. Not really an easy weekend type. I put in a couple hours a night here and there and it took a couple weeks to beat it.

That happens to be my really only complaint from MGS4. I was expecting 50 hours of gameplay which is what Hideo had suggested and the reason he wanted BluRay.

But 18 hours. Damn, MGS1 took me longer than that. Of course, I was a lot younger then.
