This is the closest I can find to what Pinzino's is like, however, they serve it hot and yes it's very good. (http://www.idahopotato.com/recipe_search_detail.php?id=250)

It's fantastic. It contains all the fixins you'd put on a baked potato; sour cream, cheese, chives, bacon bits but in a convenient potato salad format. Price chopper sells it for $3.99 a pound but I'd venture it's easy to make. We usually pick up a couple lbs and throw it on the grill. Warming it up and adding a little smoke flavor really makes it fantastic.

I like the beer band idea. I definitely don't drink enough beer to be worth the money anyway. Now that I have that damned acid reflux I can't even drink beer now. I try occasionally but usually pay for it for an hour after. Probably just bring my own bottles of Pepper or something.

Surely, someone there will be an ex football player who would be able to catch it. I wouldn't worry. Even if they're seeing double, they'd be prepared to catch two, let alone one.

That's a good point, hosting the bash has enabled me to meet alot of great planeteers and make some damn good friendships.

I hope people reading this that may be hesitant about coming to a bash or hooking up at a bar, game, etc. realize that at one time we were all strangers too.Just be a little outgoing and get yourself out of your comfort zone and the opportunity is there to meet some great people.

Last I talked to Stevie he was fairly sure he was going to come as well.I know we're over a month away still but I sure hope this thing starts to grow, like hearing from a few more of those who voted for this date etc.

SERIOUS QUESTION??

I know we're a little over a month out yet but compared to years past I'm getting a little concerned about the response and the lack of talk about those who are at least thinking about coming.

So,is the price still too high,is it the drive,c'mon folks I need some help here,I realize times are tough out there so please be blunt,I mean if we drop the fundraiser totally(which I hate to do because seriously we are helping those in need) will more people come to just a party and pay for a bbq dinner.

I know this isn't the time to be making changes but I'd rather do so now if it means a better turn-out than to go to all the work that lies ahead for just a few(and please no offense to those few who have rsvp'd I think you understand where I'm coming from.)

Strictly a financial issue for me at this time. But I'm making every effort to make it.

Price is right, proceeds to a good cause - but between a bash ticket, game ticket, parking and gas for a 600 mile round trip - I'm looking at a $200-$250 weekend.

I think it's more a timing issue - I would expect people to start firming up in the next 2-3 weeks...

My reading skills/attention to detail are teh sux04 (I still think of Clint everytime I see the word teh. Heh.).

I read the notice, and still had it in my mind that you were going to the game. I was wondering if Canadian Chief and his drinking buddies were coming down. I was going to suggest we all follow them to the Outhouse in Lawrence, since that has now become part of their visitation now. :)

Looks like we'll have to make it up on Saturday. I work Saturdays, but I'm off around 1-2 pm. That'll give you guys plenty of time to get your drunkened on. :D

Sadly we won't be making it to KC for a game (and a lapdance) this year. Don't have the funds and a few of the guys have other trips planned. The plan is to fly out to Philly next year to watch them play the Chiefs and check out Charlie's bar.

I'd like to go, but I'm changing careers and won't have my work schedule for September until mid-August at the earliest. I will let you know as soon as I know.

If I read that right it's all good but I'm not organizing a tailgate,Sunday is at my place as well.

Wait, you'll be at your place sun during the game?

If that's the case I'm almost a lock to attend.

I didn't want to shell out for tix if I ended up having to work sat or sunday (3rd shift) and then get stuck trying to pawn them off on 48 hours notice.

I'd be happy to take the pts sunday night (to call in) if you'll be home...

I won't have mu usual tailgate set up for the opener because I'll be at the Festivus tailgate. BTW, the Festivus tailgate this year will be free. No free food or drinks but there will be grill space available at the tent to grill your own meat.

Plus Formerdb is going to be tailgating there if you'd like to meet him.

I was going to head up to KC on that Friday, stay the night, possibly pick someone up, then pick up TinyEvel from the airport that Saturday. I'm not sure if I'll be headed up Friday now or not, but I will still provide a ride if someone needs one (and might want to chip in for gas). My drinking ends early on Sunday, as I'll be playing the role of DD. As it stands, I have room for at least one more.

There is many former college football players on there posting but they don't come to the FF games. Without a serious upgrade in talent on the Coalition side it wouldn't be any fun for nobody.

If anyone between here and KC needs a ride, I'd be glad to help. I can fit three other people in my car, and one (possibly two) of those spots are taken. If there are a few extra people that need a ride, I can see about borrowing my dad's SUV, which seats 5 others besides me. Let me know. I'm not for sure yet if I'm going to be going trough KC on Friday or Saturday. I do know I have to be at the KC airport at about 12:30 Saturday afternoon.

Is that the wife's NASCAR weekend? Isn't that the dilemma?

If you need significant "help" to replace a fraction of what Kathy is able to accomplish....I'm willing to help. I'm thinking you can get some others to "volunteer" too. Although, it would take 6 or 8 of us to 'replace' her talents ("hosting" talents ONLY, I mean, of course.)
