Do you remember how well the Wildcat Mojo worked out for the Jayhawks in 08?

Basketball Game Information......I am Here to Help !!!

Grief is a somewhat complicated. Therefore, for the KU fans out there, your
K-Stater "friends" are willing to set aside our differences in the interest
of helping you cope with your tragic loss.

There are five stages of grief. If you get stuck in any one stage, the
process of grieving is not complete. Thus there will be no healing. Every KU
fan MUST go through these five stages to be well (or at least closer to
well). Not everyone goes through the stages at the same time. It is
different for each person.

1) Denial--- this can't be happening to me. Inability to accept or even
acknowledge the loss. So to realize and understand, you must revisit the
loss. I am here to help....here ya go.... 84-75 !!!

2) Anger--- Why me? Feelings of wanting to fight back or get even.
Chalmers tried this fighting back method and nearly cost him a few stitches.
It is important to understand that KSU not only beat KU on the basketball
floor, but they would kick their butts unmercifully in a "real" fight. It
is in all of KU fans best interest to graduate to the next level of grief as
soon as possible before you get seriously injured.

3) Bargaining--- Bargaining often takes place before the loss. Attempting
to make deals with the opponent or attempting to make deals with God to stop
or change the loss. Begging, wishing, &/or praying for the outcome to change
will not change the result of the game. BUT, God may still love you (only
if your lone flaw is that you are a KU fan)

4) Depression--- Overwhelming feelings of hopelessness, frustration,
bitterness, self pity, & mourning as well as the feeling of a loss of hopes,
dreams and plans for the future. You KU fans need to pick yourself and dust
yourself off. You will do just fine during the remainder of the Big 12
conference (except for perhaps a certain game in Lawrence on March 1st), but
you will regress in March and have to repeat the entire 5 step grieving
process when you take another early exit in the NCAA tourney (probably to a
team that begins with the letter "B")....Bucknell, Bradley, Beasley, Bill
Walker , etc.....

5) Acceptance--- There is a difference between resignation and acceptance.
You have to accept the loss, not just try to bear it quietly. Finding the
good that can come out of the pain of loss, finding comfort, and healing.
Best bet is to surround yourself by KSU fans that will help you accept this
loss by reminding you of Jan. 30, 2008.....84-75 !!!

Get help. You will survive. You will heal, even if you cannot believe that
now, just know that it is true. To feel pain after loss is normal. It proves
that you are alive, human. But you can't stop living. To distance yourself
from these feelings, please under NO CIRCUMSTANCE should you watch ESPN
today, look at a newspaper, log onto the internet, turn on the radio, or go
out in public. Perhaps you should stay at home and read a good book. Here
are a few of my favorites: Miracle in Manhattan , They Said It Couldn't Be

The loyal citizens of Missouri were terrorized by the abolitionist thugs from Kansas.

There is no actual creature in nature called a "jayhawk." This surprises many people, but it's a fact. From wikipedia, "the name combines two birds-the blue jay, a noisy, quarrelsome thing known to rob nests, and the sparrow hawk, a stealthy hunter. The message implied: Do not turn your back on this bird." No shit.

There were very few slaves involved in the equation. Most of the residents of western Missouri were poor, and poor people couldn't afford slaves. Of course, opposition to or support of slavery was generally little more than a lame excuse for thieves and murderers on both sides to rob and kill their neighbors. If you really think every Missourian killed was a slave owner, or that items of stolen Missouri property were given to anyone other than the Jayhawkers who stole them, well, I suggest you trying reading a f#cking history book.

Jayhawk - not a cute little birdie, but a thieving scumbag whose claims of greatness and nobility are disingenuous at best.

And over the years, it seems, little has changed.

MU vs. KU
Main article: Border War (Kansas vs Missouri)
The Tigers' biggest rival is the KU Jayhawks, with whom they compete in the annual Border War. The most important meeting between the Tigers and the Jayhawks occurred on November 24, 2007 when the two teams played for the Big 12 North Championship and a shot at playing for the Big 12 Championship and a possible National Championship. The Tigers defeated the Jayhawks 36 to 28. This is regarded as the biggest victory in Missouri's history, which also occurred in the best season in Missouri's history.[4] The Tigers best season ever later resulted in a trip to the Cotton Bowl, where they defeated Arkansas 38-7.

it's a shame that they were matched up with VT, as big of a fraud as they were. it would have been better to see them get embarrassed by a real team.

but last year's college football season was very strange. there weren't any real teams out there. i think last year's mizzou team is probably #6-10 most years going into postseason, and Kansas would have been #15-20.

You could see it when they played, Kansas was outphysicaled and outskilled and getting taken to the woodshed until Missouri lost focus after halftime and let them back into the game. there was no question which team was better at any rate. it looked like what you would expect a team around #6-10 would do to a team around #15-20.

it's not very often a team gets a break like not even playing in their conference's championship game and getting to the BCS. hopefully that oversight won't happen in the future but it really is just all about money.

If anything, KU is just now building the foundation of one. Mangino and Perkins are building a respectable program. I'm keeping this in the realm of CP. You have a cake schedule this year, so by default, you are frauds and cowards unwilling to test yourselves against better competition. I'm just being fair here.

And I'm sure MU will have a good season, but when you're playing teams like SE MO State, Nevada, Buffalo, and Big 12 powerhouses like Baylor and Iowa State, I'd expect nothing less.

Well, he's not just fat - he's morbidly obese. And no, it's not really an insult, just hilarious. I'm thrilled his five chins aren't representing my football program. :)

Until Nebraska comes back around again...It will be interesting to see how that plays out. I think MU will struggle some this year, but they'll still have a terrific season. The following year, MU has to replace a TON of talent. If they can do that and have an 8 or 9 win season with new players, MU will remain a contender and will keep a lot/even more of its instate talent. If MU falters in 09, teams like NU will begin creeping back into MU's backyard for their talent.

NU has the disadvantage of not having much instate talent (much like Kansas). If MU can demonstrate that they are for real, more of the talent that NU used to take will play for the home school, and NU will likely suffer due to that fact.

It hinges on more than that. The fact is Missouri, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Texas are all more talented teams than Kansas and South Florida is just as good of a team. Coming out of those 5 games with more than 1 or 2 wins will hinge on more than just the offensive tackles.

This whole KU - Mu thing is comical. Both have sucked out loud for about 50 years. And both have had their shining moments. I didn't look any of this up but from memory I remember Mizzou being very good in 1960. They beat Notre Dame and were very highly ranked. In 1968, KU, and John Riggins, were pretty good and lost the Orange Bowl to Penn State on a penalty on a two point conversion. KU was also pretty good (but still couldn't beat Nebraska) during the Rollin' Nolan Cromwell years. I'm guessing mid 70's. But, for the most part, we both have sucked at football. Last year we both had super years by comparison so we start fighting each other. We really shouldn't.

I hate that they will be fine. I like 'em down.
I'll say one thing. The excitement is back. Course it is always everywhere this time of year. But if they are not sitting 4-0 when Missouri rolls into Lincoln I'll be disappointed. That game will rock. Huskers will be laying in wait for the Tigers. I've heard that they want everyone to wear black at that game in support of the Blackshirts.
Not making any predictions but I'm trying to lobby my brother for a ticket. I am going to the opening game Aug 30th. :thumb:

I was thinking in terms of individual wealth building, you know, shit that really matters. So are you saying that Pitt State is a better school than moosouri - the CEO is a PSU grad.

Cool - I like your reasoning.

I just saw where KU just raised Mangino's package to 2.3 million per year. More than Bill Self makes. Does anyone know what Pinkel makes?

It's not going to be Callahan's and Cosgroves Pinkshirts that quit last year.
It's Pelini's Blackshirts.

Well, I don't think you'll suck forever, but I think we can get one more year out of you.

So, who do you revenge on worse - us or Kansas?

I believe 1.85 million, 4th highest behind Stoops, Brown, and Mangino.

That was a once in a lifetime season. I don't expect the race to be to be as close this time around. :p

Kansas, they put the bigger hurt on us last year. But I think they'll be up for Missouri more since they've got the bullseye on their back. Colorado they can wait on. Offense won't drop off much but they will run the ball more and their bringing back some of the option plays. Huskers are stacked at RB and offensive line is going to be damn good. Ganz at QB will open some eyes this fall as well. Defense is all about emotion and they are going back to an attacking style other than that read and react shit Cosgrove had them doing the last 4 yrs.
Teams will be going to LSU film and 03 Husker film as to how to go against the D.
Realisticly I'm thinking 8-4 and a decent bowl. Anything over that is gravy this year. But who knows what can happen.

Or he could be about as good as Harrison Beck or dare I say it Freeman ;)
Both of which were overly hyped by Rivals and Scout. Beck couldn't beat out Zac Taylor or his backups and took his ball to NC State where he's still riding the pine. And Freeman while decent hasn't lived up to all the hype either. According to Rivals ect. ect. Huskers have all world talent on both sides of the ball but Callahan couldn't do shit with them. 95% of those guys are still there. There's some very good players on both sides of the ball and if Pelini can coach it out of them whereas Callahan couldn't coach himself out of a paper bag the Huskers will make some noise this year. Osborne made the right hire with Pelini. Just wish Osborne was in charge back in 04. Pedersen alone set the program back 4 years. Nuthooks for that asshole.

It hinges on more than that. The fact is Missouri, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Texas are all more talented teams than Kansas and South Florida is just as good of a team. Coming out of those 5 games with more than 1 or 2 wins will hinge on more than just the offensive tackles.

Well, I was taking the toughness of the schedule into account making those predictions, would seem kind of silly not to? Oklahoma by most accounts is a loss, the only saving grace about that game is that it occurs after the Red River Rivalry, so we can at least hope for a letdown. If OU remains at its best, nobody, not even Mizzou at Arrowhead if that happens, will stop them. Their lines are just too powerful.

Texas and T Tech are tough, but we get them in Lawrence. Texas gave their most explosive player to the Chiefs, so it remains to be seen how well they bounce back into form. T Tech could be very dangerous, actually more concerned about them than Texas. On paper, Mizzou has the better team, but they don't play rivalry games on paper.

That said, if the tackles come up big, so will KU. That's asking alot of a redshirt freshman and a JUCO transfer. The other positions, IMO, will be adequately backed up. Traditionally, I'd say the schedule is too much to overcome, but in the era of the spread offense, the key is always whether the D has designed a good plan. KU is solid on defense, so that'll keep us in most of the league games, the tackles are the key.
