Bengals quarterback was recently interviewed on LA-based sports radio station (KLAC) and talked about living in Ohio and the upcoming USC-Ohio State college football matchup. Here are some highlights from the interview:

Just being in Ohio you gotta watch what you say with the old Ohio State-USC battle coming up, or do you just not give a (darn) and your going to say what you feel like saying?

Palmer: I donít watch what I say. I cannot stand the Buckeyes and having to live in Ohio and hear those people talk about their team, it drives me absolutely nuts. We got Keith Rivers out there and we got Frostee Rucker, we finally got a couple other ĎSC guys. Itís amazing to hear what those guys think about that university and what they think about that football program and Tressel and all the crap I got to put up with being back there. I just canít wait for two years from now when ĎSC comes to the ĎShoe and I get to, hopefully have a home game that weekend and I can go out there and watch us pound on them on their own turf and kind of put all the talk to rest, because Iím really getting sick of it. I just canít wait for this game to get here so they can come to the Coliseum and experience L.A. and get an old fashioned, Pac 10 butt-whooping and go back to the Big Ten.

So youíre a little excited about it?

Palmer: I canít wait.

What did people expect him to say being a former USC qb and talking to a LA radio station?

But being in the Columbus area, I can certainly understand how he could say those things.

People need to get over it. Especially the so-called Buckeye fans who were hurt by the comments...... :banghead:

He is a freakin idiot. Who do you think is paying for your paycheck Moron? Half the reason there are so many Buckeye fans is because we don't have a Pro-Team in Ohio, so Ohio State is our pride and joy because they have won a championship and are competiting every year (ok here comes GayManDakCm or whatever his name is). Carson Palmer is going to lose a lot of fans for this, you should of heard the talk shows in central Ohio this morning. First off Carson you aren't even very good, maybe if you didn't suck last year people would actually care what you think and not Boo you during games. Like a lifetime bengal fan said on a talk show this morning, "I hope he gets his leg broken and traded, go back to Cali, we don't want you".

I watch almost every game every year, because I only have basic cable. He sucked last year he was overthrowing recievers all the time, he just looked terrible. Seriously you don't have to be great to throw the ball to Chad Johnson, TJ, and Chris Henry, if you get it close to them they will catch it. I would hate to see Palmer as a Chief, he is very immobile and would get his knee broke again. Immobile+bad O-line=bad combination for your health.

Right on. The reason the Buckeyes are so popular in Columbus and throughout Ohio is because all of our other pro teams have been terrible. The Indians haven't won a world series in years, Reds not since 1990. Bengals and Browns have choked away several opportunities, the Blue Jackets suck. Thank God for LeBron, otherwise the Cavs would be a lottery team. People follow the Buckeyes in this state because they are winners. Just when the Bengals began to give the people of Ohio something to root for, Pollack breaks his neck, Thurman and Henry get suspended and Chad/Houshmanzadeh become babies looking for more money. I'm sure Mike Brown must be real happy about this, Bengals have become the 2nd most disfunctional team in the league.

Carson isn't a bad QB, but I'd expect him to have a little more respect for his fan base. He knows damn well that the majority of fans who root for the Bengals, also root for the Buckeyes. As far as the game goes, I expect it to be competitive. I'd wish we'd have these kind of games more often. Gives even the casual fan something to watch. I'd like to get some of those SEC powerhouses to play up north around December.

If it was any program other than USC, yes I'd expect to go on the road and win with the amount of returning seniors we have. The problem is USC just reloads every year. The amount of talent that sits on USC's bench is ridiculous. With that being said, I do expect the Buckeyes to be competitive. I won't predict a victory, but it wouldn't surprise me. I have no idea how Booty's replacement will play.

Just remember Mark "Dirty" Sanchez was a 5 star recruit.....so he very well may be better than Booty.

The thing is you look at the players we lost, I think we still have the best LB group in the nation, the secondary is great especially the safeties, then you look at the DL you take Ellis and Jackson off but you now add in Moala and Griffin who could be even better...

The only thing that concerns me at all is the OL, if it gels we could may win the NC.

What is great about college sports as a whole is the unexpected. Teams play amazing one week and get upset the next. Nobody predicted Michigan losing to App St. or USC losing to Stanford, but things happen. To answer your question about OSU, I'd have to say yes. They have arguably the best RB in the nation and one helluva OL. They lost one lineman off of last years team and replaced him with the 2nd best tackle in the nation per scout.com and also picked up the nations top center prospect. Terelle Pryor is most likely overhyped, but will bring an added diminsion to the Buckeye offense. Finally we picked up the nations 4th best WR last year and 4th best TE. The TE I mentioned is 6'5 220 and runs a legitimate 4.4 40.

OK. I am going to jump in and throw my .02 cents to this question. I am willing to say out right that "Yes" the Bucks will beat USC in LA. The only concern I have for tOSU is the QB play.

If Boeckman plays like he did the last part of the season then we are in trouble. If he plays like he did in the first part of the season or better, then the Bucks win.

The one thing I think is a certain is that this is going to be a very defensive game and in no way do I expect USC to run up any kind of score against the Bucks Defense like some USC fans are expecting to happen.

He plays in Cincy for f*cks sake. Ohio State football is Ohio sports. I guarantee if you surveyed 100 Ohio sports fans, and asked them if they'd rather score season tickets to the Browns, Bengals, Reds, Indians, and the Cavs combined or for Ohio State football, 90 of them say Ohio State football.

Without a doubt, but for good reason. Think about it, all Buckeye fans have heard about for the last two years is they can't beat SEC speed and that we can't win the big one. I've got to be honest with you, I would of rather played in any other BCS game than the national championship game last year. I'm that tired of hearing about that crap. People like to dig on OSU, but most teams would be happy with the success that OSU has had over the last few years. It almost seems as though people blame OSU for the current bowl system, it's not OSU's fault that they played in the national championship game. If memory serves me right, it took a WVU collapse and a few other things to make it a possibility.

That is a lame reply. CP was chatting it up with the USC Play By Play guy and he made a statement of his faith with alma mater on the local radio show. He is supposed to care that people are sensitive in Ohio?

Carrol probably put him up to it to get the team fired up.

No one cares about the lack of respect you get for backing into games and then not showing up for them.

You shouldn't of even won the recent one that you did but because of the refs you took down Miami. The phantom PI call was BS.

So do you expect AJ Hawk to be a Wisconsin fan when they play the Buckeyes this year?

Attitudes like yours are why people don't like the Buckeyes or some of their fans.

Columbus isn't the center of the universe, unlike what the majority of the Buckeye fans think.

NBC, ESPN, Fox & CBS are all paying for his paycheck (along with DirectTV). Not the fans of the Bengals.

Is this some kind of joke? Two professional footballs teams, two professional baseball teams and basketball team equal no pro teams in Ohio?

So if MU plays Alabama, Brodie Croyle is supposed to root for MU?

You just lost all credibility (if you hadn't with your first "sentence").

That person sounds like a complete and utter moron.

Are you related?

Yes it's a joke idiot, I live in Ohio I think I would know we have pro-teams, pro-teams that never win. Are you really this dumb or just being a drama queen, no Croyle wouldn't have to root for MU just because he is playing there. There is a difference in playing somewhere and not liking the college teams, then there is playing there and disrespecting the College team that has more fans than your professional team. Just in case you don't know Ohio is football, on the College, High School, and Pro-Level, it's what Ohio loves, High School football in Ohio is life to a lot of people/schools. I am more into the Buckeyes than any of the high school teams, but we always have at least 2 High School teams in the top ten in the Country D1. BTW I Honestly don't care what you think about anything, so to me it's irrelevant, none the less, I figured I would address it.

I'm not a Buckeye but whether you like them or not the OSU football program is among the best in the nation, year in and year out and has been for many years.
To hear Kansas fan even mention his football team in the same breath cracks me up.
Ohio State has produced some of the best to play the game.

It is just that the Columbus area and the rest of the state of Ohio, revolves around O$U and think that O$U can do no wrong. I understand why the majority of the state of Ohio doesn't acknowledge there are pro teams in the state and consider O$U their own pro franchise. Yes we got beat badly in both NC games, our offense was good last year, was led by a very "adequate" QB who looked a lot better because of his recieving Corps. Boeckman made a lot of mistakes especially in the Illinois game where it seemed that he was throwing the ball to Robo with his eyes closed, and expecting him to make every play on the ball.

The PAC-10 does have a pretty good system going, I'll give them that. I wish another team would join the Big Ten and they would not only play everyone in their conference, but also have a conference championship like other conferences. What makes me laugh is when people state that OSU never schedules tough competition. I mean, sure they got their asses handed to them in the national championship game two years ago, but I don't remember anybody stating before hand how unfair it was for OSU to have to beat two #2 ranked teams that season. I know that we have our fair share of cupcake games like Youngstown St., but everybody does and I can't fault Jim for trying to keep the money in state. BTW, I wouldn't consider ND as a good non conference opponent.

Virginia head coach Al Groh, a former NFL assistant, on USC:

"This is the most talented college football team I've seen since I had to do pre-draft work on the Florida State teams of the mid- to late-1990s."

"They had the most guys in the country drafted last year and a couple of NFL general managers have told me: 'They might have more drafted next year.' They definitely have been in a league of their own in the decade from 2000 on."
