The Packers reportedly have Brett Favre's phone records that included "repeated calls" from Favre's Packers-issued cellular phone to Vikings coach Brad Childress and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.
It's unbelievable Favre was brazen enough not to consider this biting him in the ass. He's either out of touch with reality or thought the Packers would be more loyal to him (even if it helps their division rivals). If this proves true, the Packers may pick up a draft pick from the NFL. Jul. 22 - 5:49 pm et

Peyton may be in many commericals, but so was M.Jordan and he wasn't annoying. Peyton is one of the best QB's ever... and I would love to see him in red&gold.

The Packers shouldn't receive jack shit for compensation, after all it's THEIR player that was the dumbass.

Am I the only one sick and tired of the Favre soap opera? I was so happy when the dust settled after he retired, now this crap.
On NFL Sirius the other day, the announcer actually said, "All Brett Favre, All day, every day."

Why didn't Favre just ask to be traded at the end of last season? He's the one who retired.

Again, no ****ing way should the Packers get compensation for this.

Agreed. Favre should be fined and punished, not the Vikes.

Ah, the life of a professional athlete/celeb. Company car, COMPANY PHONE, free meals, free tickets, never here the word “NO”. Go into any business and get a free this or a free that. Make millions in dollars and pay for nothing. People are just sorry saps when it comes to celebrity. In fact these loaded “freeloaders” should have to pay double for everything! They make more than the average rate of increase of our GDP. If these full-of-themselves “heros” were private businesses their economies of scale would increase exponentially. Why can’t he just go away quietly and sit on his mounds of money. No! instead he would be willing to suit up in a hated Vikings uni and play in Lambeau in front of all his adoring fans who made him rich! What a freaking disloyal/dishonorable piece of “put your own word here”! No wonder GB is so willing to get rid of him. I always thought Farve might be like this.

Are you being serious, Mr. blueballs? Or is this another of your wild, irresponsible attempts to initiate a baseless, unsupported rumor that can cause irreconcilable and potentially irreversible harm to the parties involved?

Just curious.

Per pft.com

Just when it seemed that the Packers and quarterback Brett Favre were trying to find a way to coexist, Favre finally has received permission to talk to another team about a possible trade.

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, the team receiving such permission is the Jets, an AFC team not on the Packers’ schedule in 2008. (Unless they meet in the Super Bowl.)

Mort reports that the Buccaneers also have expressed interest. The Packers likely won’t grant Favre permission to talk to the Bucs or any other NFC team until all AFC trade possibilities have been exhausted.

The problem for the Jets is that, with this fairly large cat out of the bag, it will be very hard for the Jets to proceed without acquiring Favre.

Meanwhile, folks who were criticizing Commissioner Roger Goodell for getting involved in the situation will now have even more reason to suspect skullduggery, given that Favre could land with a New York team.

As our pal Dino Costa pointed out during a radio visit with him earlier this hour, it would be fitting for Favre to land with the Jets. Ron Wolf tried hard as a member of the Jets front office to position the team to draft Favre in 1991. A year later, Wolf was G.M. of the Packers, and swung a trade with the Falcons for Favre.

Seventeen years later, the Jets might finally be getting their guy.
