Lem Barney Q&A (http://www.detroitlions.com/document_display.cfm?document_id=3985)

Q: Lem, Who was the Randy Moss of your era? What one receiver could dominate a game? -- Robert Elliott from DeWitt, Mich.

"You had a myriad of Randy Moss' in my era. You had Otis Taylor (Kansas City) and Charley Taylor (Redskins). You had a Paul Warfield (Cleveland and Miami), You had a Freddy Bilentnikoff, You had a late season Bobby Mitchell (Cleveland), who was a game breaker as well. You look at the AFC and you get the Cliff Branch's (Oakland) the Warren Wells' (Oakland). There was a great deal of receivers who earned a great deal of respect from me, as would a Randy Moss have in that era as well.

Which raises a question for me. Whatever happened to his Hall of Fame bid? Are his chances done?

Nice post, Mr. Change Of Direction While Moving. The last I had heard of Otis Taylor, he was lying flat on his back waiting for a disability check so he could buy food and medicine.

As for the Hall, surely there are still many in the league who recognize that he is deserving.

It's incredibly sad but I'm afraid he may have to die for serious consideration from the old-timer's committee.

It is sad. Otis was better than all of those WR's mentioned except Warfield. He was a big receiver who was very hard to bring down.
