Who was the best Bond, and what is your favorite Bond film?

I've always said that George Lazenby was IMO the best.

However, I was absolutely blown away by Daniel Craig. Even on subsequent watchings, I really like him.

I never would have been afraid of Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton or Brosnan. I never really saw them as tough. I think Craig really handles the suave part well, but at the end of the day he's a killer. I would be afraid of Craig's Bond.

I allways liked Roger Moore, just becouse he had to fight Jaws. Jaws was one tough SOB, he could bite right through a steel cable with his teath!

As a fan of the books, I think Dalton portrayed the character the best. Daniel Craig also impressed me. I'm curious to see if the new one will be as good. Oh, and my favorite is probably The Living Daylights.

Craig blew me away as well. He really OWNED the role and gave the character as much or more texture as it ever had.

Connery will always be my first pick, but then again he was the one I grwe up with. I always thouh Moore was a liitle too quick with the wit, and too pretty... sometimes hard to beilve him as a stone-cold licensed to kill type. Dalton did a good job, and a significantly better than Brosnan. Craig, however, is doing a god job owning the role, and has recreated Bond as the killer first and foremost, and charming as a nice secondary character attribute.

Craig was great. I was never much of a Bond fan, but I really enjoyed that last one.

Connery. Hands down.

Plus, it is hard to include Craig in the equation since they have completely redefined who Bond is now.

Craig
Brosnan
Lazenby
Moore
Dalton

-Favorite film? From Russia with Love.

I'm very much a fan of Craig, as he strikes me as closest to the books "Bond". Not a debonair gentleman, but rather a man only a few steps from a murderous thug.

Moore strictly because he was in the first few Bond movies I ever saw, although Connery is the only other Bond I have seen except for whoever played him in Casino Royale.

Favorite? It's hard to narrow it down, the only ones I didn't particularly care for were Moonraker & Casino Royale.

I loved Craig's Bond but I really do think, Sean Connery in his prime would have given the new bond a run for his money with the same script.

I think you're right. I also think that Moore would have had an interesting take on it, based on his "Sean Flynn" character from The Wild Geese.

Im still partial to Roger Moore. Thats who i grew up on. Hes probably the least realistic but most debonair Bond. His line delivery and alot of his dialouge was hilarious.

Loved Connery

Loved Brosnan

Love Craig

Dalton was a miscast. No flare, no personality.

I used to love Moonraker as a kid, but boy did that not age well. Probably the worst Bond movie ever.

Connery by a mile-- I've always thought Hugh Jackman would do a damned good Bond.

Brosnan, Connery, Craig, Moore, Dalton. Really liked "Die another Day" first time you saw Bond really get his @#s kicked. "Live and let Die", "For Your Eyes Only", and "The Spy Who Loved Me" some of my favorites. But this Craig character is growing on me.

I didn't like Craig at first, but as a lot of people have suggested, he's a little more cold-blooded than the others. Saw the preview for Quantum of Solace the other day, looks good ...

had given up on the franchise, but watched casino royale last night and was impressed....they've "Bourne-ized" him, which was smart...

Quantum of Solace is a great title....

I used to love Moonraker as a kid, but boy did that not age well. Probably the worst Bond movie ever.

Same here, I remembered liking it as a kid, so I rented it a while back and I could not believe I ever sat through that and enjoyed it. It was horribly slow and boring. OTOH, Casino Royale was just the opposite, they tried to jam WAY too much action and a WAY too complicated story into a two hour movie. I had no idea wtf was going on nearly the entire time I was watching it.

Moore and Connery are tied to me... I love all the movies they are in.
Brosnan was awesome in Goldeneye, but the rest of his flicks sucked.
I absolutly hated Dalton, and don't even remember Lazenby???
Craig was superb in Casino Royal, and I think he will be even better in the Bonds to come...

It's hard to rate them in order.

My fav films were "You only Live Twice" and "Goldeneye"

I liked Casino Royale more than I thought I would, but it felt like a 2 hour poker game. Overall, it didn't deter from the overall quality of the film, but it was a bit much.

Lazenby was the first Bond after Connery. He was in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, the best Bond movie, IMO. He never got a fair shake because he was the first guy to follow Connery.

No love for Woody Allen's Bond??
