Open 'Reid Offset Letter'

Thanks. I guess I just needed to open it with Adobe. Its a pretty good letter. I agree with a lot of his suggestions, but not all.
I wish more people in Congress were concerned with government programs we could cut.

I'm gonna do some follow up on these to see how it was resolved. This is my favorite:

Eliminate unused NIH facility in Baltimore. NIH currently pays $1.3 million each month to rent a laboratory in Southeast Baltimmore, which cannot actually be used because vibrations in the facility would negatively affect any NIH research taking place there. Savings: $78 million.

Yeah, that's a pretty bad one. If the government really got locked into this long term lease (I assume that's where he gets the $78 million from), and didn't try to get out of it once the facility couldn't be used for its intended purpose, that is about par for the course.

$1.3 mill per month = $15.6 mill per year times 5 years = $78 mill

Yeah, so they are going to be paying the rent for 5 years without ever using the property. Awesome.
