You might check with the hospitals. A lot of them are going to the EMR (electronic medical record). Of course, they usually outsource the software and service.

My resume looks not so good, but if I can get to the interview, the job is mine.

Jack Henry would be great, but their round file is HUGE.

Dinny, I can't actually offer any help but I can wish you good luck.

That and $1.29 should get you a cup of coffee!

But anyway, best of luck to you.

What are you wanting to do? Desktop support? With the electirican background I'd check the local telecoms.

If I remember right for $1.29 you can practically eat a whole meal at Georges.

I've heard you can get a nasty hooker there for about the same price.

I use to make some late night trips to Georges.....

But everytime I'm down there I try to make it to Antons. Love that place.

I took a trip to Springfield to see the setup of the Mid-Missouri Tech Center. Nice setup if you are in IT. I talked with one manager that said they were just getting into Email Archiving (I've been setting up Symantec Enterprise Vault at my organization and recommended it to them). They seem to specialize in AFS/Metavante banking software (I am the AFS/Metvante admin, Backup admin , Antivirus admin, and soon Netapp SAN Admin at the bank I work at), but they have other areas of IT as well. Seemed like a great company and are growing as well.

If I was looking for a job in Springfield in the IT field that's the first place I'd look. Otherwise my father, who is an IT recruiter (he didn't help me get my current job though I did it on my own) says a really good place to work is Springfield Utilities. He said that have great benefits and pay really well for IT folk.

I don't think he could help you since he hires mostly Admins, but I can give you his web address if you would like. He might be able to at least point you in the direction of a local recruiter or something.

Bass Pro has a big IT department. You should check it out, I know of a few guys that either works there or have worked there.
