Obama's response:

On a day when major news organizations across the country are taking Senator McCain to task for a steady stream of false, negative attacks, his campaign has launched yet another. Or, as some might say, ‘Oops! He did it again.’

Our dependence on foreign oil is one of the greatest challenges we face. In this election the American people have a real choice -- between Obama’s plan to provide tax rebates to American families while creating a renewable energy economy in America that frees us from our dependence on foreign oil, and Senator McCain’s plan to continue the same failed energy policies by handing out nearly $4 billion in tax breaks to oil companies while investing almost nothing in the new energy sources that represent our future.

Seems odd that the message would be that the other guy is too popular, don't vote for him.

WTF to tax rebates to American families have to do with our dependence on foreign crude?

WTF to tax rebates to American families have to do with our dependence on foreign crude?

Or better yet- How about stop taking our money from us only to give it back in the form of a "tax rebate"- for those that qualify. AKA-wealth redistribution...

It seems that statement was answering the attack that he is going to raise taxes.

It seems that statement was answering the attack that he is going to raise taxes.

The ad mentions that Barack Hussein wants to raise taxes on electricity.

It appears that that "attack" is correct:

Obama said what he said: "What we ought to tax is dirty energy, like coal and, to a lesser extent, natural gas."

The Obama team is starting to become very confused with these "plans".

The incompetence of McCain's campaign is mindboggling. This is the second consecutive ad they've run where they've gone out of their way to remind the audience of how popular Obama is.

And it's like the 5th consecutive ad where they haven't discussed a single reason why McCain should be President.

Do you want a President of the World, or President of the United States?

Isn't the President of the United States often referred to as the leader of the free world? I like the fact that Obama is approaching the office with the thought of how America is portrayed in the World.

Yet the McCain camp likes to ignore that he wants to give $1000 back to most Americans.

"John McCain doesn't have celebrity status. People aren't excited about John McCain. If John McCain went to Berlin, he couldn't fill a high school auditorium. Vote McCain."
