Well the investigation in the anthrax case seems to have almost led to an arrest. The anthrax case, of course, referring to the anthrax mailings that followed in the wake of 9/11 and I believe killed a couple people.
The scary part of this story, moreso than the crime and the criminal, is where the suspect came from. The suspect was Bruce E. Ivins, a top 62-year-old biodefense expert for the U.S. Holy shit.
And upon hearing that charges were going to be levied against him, he committed suicide (http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/us/AP-Anthrax-Scientist.html?hp).
Wow.
MSNBC.com runs a brief profile (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25961053/) of Ivins:
Friends, colleagues and court documents paint a picture of a brilliant scientist with a troubled side. Maryland court documents show he recently received psychiatric treatment and was ordered to stay away from a woman he was accused of stalking and threatening to kill.
