I think this is a much better move than going to the Bucs.

The Jets completely rebuilt their offensive line. They have some offensive weapons.

I like the move on their end. The money they spent this off-season made this move necessary.

Fox Sports says Farve has spurned the Jets and is going to THE SHARKS. Brett gave these exclusive comments to Fox's Jay Glazer:

See the pretty girl in that mirror there
Who can that attractive girl be?
Such a pretty face
Such a pretty dress
Such a pretty smile
Such a pretty me!

I feel pretty
Oh so pretty
I feel pretty and witty and gay

Right now, the Jets owe the Packers a 4th rounder for the pick alone.

If Brett plays 50%, they get a 3rd.

Favre did sign off on the deal, but why? He's going to a crap team, of which doesn't employ the west coast offense, in turn, he's going to have to learn a new one. The talent on that team, well, isn't that good duh.

Color me badd but the Jets were 10-6 just two seasons ago, beat NE in the regular season, only to lose to them in the playoffs.

They've brought in some veteran talent to mix with their youth and along with Favre, could surprise (much like the 2007 Packers).

Nothing would shock me this upcoming season.

Interesting. The Jets signed a ton of talent this past offseason in a desperate bid by Tannenbaum and Mangini to save their jobs with a good season this year. It's high risk/high reward. They may have even been a borderline wild card contender before this.

Now, it all depends on whether those pieces can be made to fit together quickly. The Jets have two very good WRs, so with Favre back there they have a definite threat in the passing game. We'll see how it works out.

Nah I think this pretty much guarantees them second in the division this year.

The Bills and the Dolphins suck much worse.

The downside is Pennington will be a Chief before the weekend is over

I still think Buffalo finishes 2nd.

The Jets will be lucky to make a playoff spot.

Too bad the WC's are coming out of the south and north this season.

I know Favre wants to play again, but I know this is definately NOT what he had in mind. I think he wanted to play with Packers or Vikes and that's pretty much it. He knew he didn't really have a chance in TB or especially NYJ.

Why would he agree to go to a AFC team and get his ass kicked in backwards?!?!?

The Jets just spent the whole offseason beefing up the line. After that I believe they added TRich.

Farve might not have much to throw to but he'll have plenty of time to find a way to fit the ball into perfect coverage...

If the Jets trade Favre to another team the Packers get three first round picks from the Jets. Any talk of him going to the Vikings is over.

Whoa, very nice move by the Pack to put that in the deal.

well Pats have Rodney Harrison and Co. to TCB in week 2 at NYJ

my guess Favre will wish he took $25M and called it a career when this is over

I agree. I don't see the Jets as much of a threat to take the AFC East to say the least.

They heavily revamped their entire team. It's a question of whether all those new pieces can fit in reasonably well together. We'll see. There's talent there -- lots of it on the back end of their careers, but still...

This is so sad the more I think about it.

One of the greats is going out on a bad team. It won't tarnish his career, but it's sad it has to end this way on such a bad team.

It's great to peg the Jets as a horrible team right now, but I don't know how many of you thought this time last year that the New York Giants would be the Super Bowl champs.

Let the games play out.

That is true, every year is different.

But they aren't going to the playoffs. Not with the Pats in that division.

But that's why they play, you're right.

LOL!

The Jets have totally revamped both lines and added Gholston and Keller in the draft. what have you been reading or watching?

Oh, and what's your opinion of the Chiefs?

I'm basing my view of the Jets on last year, because that's all we have to judge them on. The same for the Chiefs. Until both teams prove otherwise, they are bad football teams. It's logic.

Now they might be better this year, both may surprise, but we'll have to wait and see. As tribe and Bad Guy pointed out, that's why the NFL is so great, you just never know.

Yep, there are a lot of people who think that a team in the NFL can't change from year to year if the right moves are made. The JETS have 4 FIRST ROUND picks on the OL, IIRC, a couple of stud WR and have made strong moves on the D side.
I am going to watch what Favre can do with this team with great interest. IMHO if the JETS aren't a much improved team it won't be due to the rest of the team sucking but Favre not fitting in.
I think Favre may go off this year.

Oh, and LOL at those saying "Green Bay stuck it to Favre". Brett can veto any trade he doesn't like and sit back and collect big bucks. He chose not to do so.

Yeah, I agree with that. he has a lot of shit to inhale in the next month also, new offense/receivers and getting comfortable. he might just suck also, we will have to wait and see.

It pisses me off when players change their minds at the last second. Roaf couldn't have told us any later that he was retiring.

The Packers also worked into the trade that if the Jets turn around and flip Favre to the Vikings they are owed 3 first round picks from the Jets.

I knew some sort of stipulation would be required to gather his services...i think it would be hilarious, im sure if he was traded to the raiders al davis would do it

This instantly stretches the field for the Jets. giving up a conditional 4th round pick is a steal. if they go to the super bowl it's a 1st round pick.
