I'm not a Faith No More fan, but his work with Fantomas is amazing, he has incorportated sounds from past generations and made them modern, not blatantly copying the sound like the band he was calling out. Also, Dillinger Escape Plan's Irony Is A Dead Scene EP still gets played in my extended rotation. I'm not a Patton fanboy, but he's far from a one hit wonder and actually holds respect in his industry.

I agree. Faith No More was just one of the hundreds of shit that guy has been involved w/ that was awesome.

And just to give people an idea of Fantomas. I'm not a fan, but I see the humor!

Faith No More was an innovative band that influenced an entire generation of musicians. Most modern metal bands find a huge influence in FNM and Mr. Bungle (see Incubus' first album). Plus, Patton pushes the limits of performance art and music in his various projects that extend far beyond Faith No More.

Wolfmother on the other hand was a mainstream retro rock band that did little than imitate other great bands.

I love that video, it's one of my favorites. He's got a crazy amount of vocal flexibility. And this is nothing compared the sounds he made for all the zombies in the "I am Legend" movie.

BS- just because you don't like him, and he doesn't pander to the radio doesn't mean people don't care. I'd say he's probably one of the most sucessful underground artists there are. He has a huge following all around the world.

And for the record, Faith No More may have been his only mainstream project but they've had mulitple songs hit the charts: We Care Alot (Also the theme of the show Dirty Jobs) Epic, Falling to Pieces, From Out of Nowhere (Also-Featured on Madden 06), Midlife Crisis, and Easy. Sure, Epic was the only huge hit, but it's not even close to being their best song. In fact, it might be one of their worst, IMO.

Yea. After watching those two works I am going to have to stick with my original post...No one gives a rats ass. That was painful for me to watch both of them.

I will agree to disagree.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion. I think he's a genius, you value rat's asses. Variety, it's what makes the world go around.
