But the ad makes some dubious claims:
1) When it says that Obama voted "to raise taxes on people making just $42,000," that was on a non-binding budget resolution vote that didn't actually raise or lower taxes. From Factcheck.org: "The resolution does not contain a specific provision to raise tax rates, but rather assumes that most of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts expire as scheduled in 2011."

2) According to Obama's economic plan, he would raise taxes only on those making more than $250,000 per year, and would provide tax cuts to those making less than that. Factcheck.org: "Obama has stated repeatedly that his plan would increase taxes only for those making more than $250,000 per year."

Stop looking at the narrow street and see the whole avenue. Obama's plan will alter so many things, plans, programs that it will need funding, not just cutting expenses to supply funding. So I ask you, American is so far in debt, how will he pay for all of these new programs ? All public funding , Private funding ? His Health Care program will cost billions of dollars.

Plus he has no plan to lower the gas at the pump , right away, but only to tax big oil markets more, which could well lead them into higher prices and relying on more ME oil until his alternative fuel programs will kick in , in what 5 years ? Supply and demand ? Hello, he does nothing for this, NOW. The gas stimulus check is a complete line of BS, it does nothing to lower the cost of oil per barrel.

Obama has a vision, but his goal of getting there will make millions of Including middle class Americans suffer longer to get here.

IMHO, He just isn't ready to handle this or foreign politics with hostile countries.

I don't support Government healthcare, but I'd rather spend our tax dollars here than over in Iraq if I had to choose.

You are correct, Obama's taxing of the oil companies is a disasterous idea. It would only hurt the middle and low income Americans in the short term. That said, McCain's plan does nothing either, except continue our reliance on fossil fules. There is no sort term fix. A forward looking plan is our only option right now; it's only going to get worse.

Pardon me, but what plan proposed by McCain lowers the cost of a barrel of oil? The rise in oil is based largely on the modernization of India and China. McCain is a prototypical "free trader," and offers little for supprting "fair trade." Our current trade imbalances with India and China will only continue to expand the Chineese and Indian economies. As their economies expand, the prise of oil will continue to rise.
