I seldom come to this forum unless I see a thread about WoW but I had to post about this movie. I just finished watching the video and I have to say I was highly impressed.

I came into the movie not expecting much of anything. My son had rented the movie so I thought, why not it will give me something to do while at work (yes, boring job on a Sunday). All I can say is if you have not seen it I would highly recommend it. I was expecting something pretty campy maybe even shlockey. I found that it had a solid story line that kept me involved and nice graphics for the most part (not a huge CGI fan). I expected Clan of the Cave Bear and could not have been farther from the truth.

Both of my thumbs are way up for this movie! :thumb: :thumb:

Seriously? I haven't seen it, but I've yet to read one review that even called this movie mediocre. I've stayed away for that reason.

I thought it was going to have some kind of action. Instead, it was long and boring. I'm not saying it was bad, but I thought they emphasized the love story a little too much.

Kind of like expecting Rambo, but getting The Notebook (that's a little extreme, but you get the point). It just wasn't what I expected.

This movie definitely doesn't deserve its own thread. There are about 6 consecutive posts in the "movie" thread with people, including myself, who couldn't finish this one.

I couldnt get passed 20 min of this movie, but i just did get back from my friends house and finally watched Apocolypto or whoever you spell it. IT was good.

I can't watch 10000 BC for the sole fact of their abysmal historical record. 300 at least has an excuse: based on a graphic novel.

I do have to disagree with Apocolypto being a good movie. The plot was run to save family after capture. How original? The execution of the film? Poor.

apocalypto was good. the scale at which some of that stuff was filmed, just amazing. but it was at it's heart, a new spin on the chase movie. probably the best chase movie ever.

What are other examples of "chase movies"?

It sucked, but it was entertaining.

I want someone to expound upon the ALIENS/ATLANTIS/EGYPT bullshit.

Love story? 10,000 bc? Did it involve a club and dragging by the hair?

"Duel" is about one of my favorite chase movies of all time. It doesn't compare any to Apocolypto.

Then pick up season one of Stargate Atlantis.

The problem with Stargate Atlantis, which I haven't seen, is that it's set in the present/near future.

I want to see tribal natives being enslaved by aliens. I could be completely ignorant and that's exactly what happens in SA, but I'll still check it out. Soon as I finish Frasier.

Never heard of it. I'll add it to my lengthy list of movies to see.

It's a Spielberg with good suspense not all the CGI. It's from 1971 but Dennis Weaver has a good part in it.
