Another example of why the pre-season is overrated. TB would not be up 10 on NE in the regular season. JMO.

We made the Baars D look awful, the Cards made us look awful. All I am saying is the pre-season is overrated. We aren't as good as we looked in Chicago I doubt, and we aren't as bad as the team who lost to the Cards.

NE isn't going to get their ass whipped by TB in the regular season either.

The pre-season is good for looking at snapshots of plays and drives and for backups, individual players.

Everone wants to overreact to the good and the bad. I am waiting for regular season issues to piss me off.

If you're still around. I didn't see Victor Hobson play tonight, did you? Now that he's not on your team, I never liked him. I don't remember ever seeing him making a big play. He was terrible against the run. I could be wrong.

I'm so glad the Jets got rid of all those No.1 busts on the defensive line... Trying to fit those guys into a 3-4 when they could barely play a 4-3.

Who signed Vilma? I know he's playing down south.

Shockey will do good. He a great blocker but he messed up running routes. And he was forever dropping the ball. He wasn't good for Eli. He was always crying for the ball. When Shockey left, Eli stopped forcing the ball. And the INTs stopped. I hope Eli's progress continues. Who knows.

I remember Vilma being a good 4-3 player -- but he was not good as an ILB in the Jet's 3-4. I also remember him getting tied up with blockers...

Brady wasn't even there. Moss played the entire half but didn't have any catches until the 2min drive at the end of the 2nd quarter. The Pats looked like they were playing vanilla offense, defense and didn't give a shit.

For Tampa, Griese looked blah, McCown looked good and Simms looked like shit. My buddy wanted to leave before Josh Johnson got in the game. The Bucs run game looked great. All the backs - Earnest Graham, Warrick Dunn, Michael Bennett and even Kenneth Darby had some nice runs. Bucs D looked good too, especially Elbert Mack, rookie CB out of Troy. He had some big plays.

When I find the time in the next couple days I post some pics.

The funny thing is Shockey and his agent Drew Rosenhous (sp) told the Giants he wanted to be traded. He spent the entire offseason telling the media that he was unhappy in NY from his role as a blocker, even though he's a TE and hates to block, to the perception that the Giants' SB run began after he broke his leg.

I like Shockey, don't get me wrong. But he was always throwing tantrums on the field when he didn't get his way. If you add up how many catches he made next to how many penalties he cost the team you would see how he always managed to overshadow his production by his distractions. Ask Tony Gonzales how much he likes blocking, but do you ever see him complaining?

In Miami, Shockey made a name for himself as a receiver's TE. Under Fassel that how he was used. When Coughlin took over, the Giants wanted Shockey to block. That's what they wanted him to do. However, he wasn't good at it until Coughlin taught him how to block. No one talks about that, though.

Shockey should do very well under his old Giants coach Sean Payton -- as long as he's a receiver's TE and stays healthy.

Does anyone have the GIF have Shockey prematurely celebrating. Then his kicker goes on to miss the FG.
