This is the place to put player news which you feel is important to the FF community.Since different people are looking for various info at any given time there really are no rules as to what you can or can't post, just please try and keep it interesting,we don't need to know that Brett Favre took a shiot during practice, unless of course he cracked a rib doing it. :)

Ricky Williams is listed as the starting tailback on the Dolphins' latest depth chart. Ronnie Brown is a second-stringer.

There are indications that this will remain the pecking order for at least the first few games of the season. Brown should stay involved, but maybe only as a passing-down specialist and change of pace. We'd still pick Brown over Williams in fantasy drafts, but it's time to move Ricky up in your pre-draft rankings. An equal split for the season is a growing possibility.

So what does that make Ronnie Brown? 5th round? 6th round?

His ADP was 5.02 during 1688 drafts over this past weekend.http://fantasyfootballcalculator.com/adp.php?teams=10&pos=rb

I'm thinking this will fall some, after the new injury and this latest news.

I might grab him as a RB4 now. I wonder how far this would move up Ricky Williams.

Steven Jackson has decided to end his holdout and will report to the Rams on Wednesday evening.

He's scheduled to practice Thursday afternoon. The sides have not agreed on a new contract, but Jackson is confident enough that an agreement will be reached to report. He has 18 days to get up to speed in the offense, which is plenty in our opinion. Jackson's fines for missing camp totaled $408,132, although most if not all of that will likely be waived. He remains our No. 3 back in standard leagues. We have Jackson fourth in PPR settings.

Coach Marvin Lewis says Chris Perry would be the Bengals' starting tailback if the season began today.

It's unclear whether this is due to Rudi Johnson's lingering hamstring injury or an official depth chart change. We'd cautiously guess it's the latter. Perry has been the Bengals' most powerful runner in the preseason and Lewis loves the power run game. Although Cincinnati will likely use a committee this season, Perry has the most fantasy upside in this backfield.

Curtis to undergo surgery
Andy Schwartz, of ComcastSportsNet.com, reports Philadelphia Eagles (http://www.kffl.com/team/29/nfl) WR Kevin Curtis (http://www.kffl.com/player/6260/nfl) (hernia) will undergo sports hernia surgery Thursday, Aug. 21. Head coach Andy Reid (http://www.kffl.com/player/1978/nfl) did not give a timetable for Curtis' return, but Reid did say Curtis will be out for a while. The injury occurred during the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 14.

Rams, Jackson agree in principle on new deal

The Rams have agreed in principle on a new contract with Steven Jackson.

Who said the Rams' front office was incompetent? "In principle, it's agreed to," Jackson said of his deal. He added that it'll be "pretty much done" after a few details are taken care of. We're guessing, but a deal in the six-year, $48-50 million range with $18-20 million guaranteed seems right. Aug. 21 - 8:40 am et

The Patriots kept eight wide receivers on their roster after final cuts, the most of any team in the league.

The Boston Herald speculates that this may be a sign New England is preparing to be minus Wes Welker (ribs) in the opener. The Pats are playing K.C. and should roll, so it'd be no surprise if they played it safe with the slot receiver. See if Welker practices next week and have another option handy.

Lions signed RB Rudi Johnson to a one-year contract.

If Rudi is to rejuvenate his career ala Jamal Lewis, this was the best place to do it. His addition may spell the end of Tatum Bell, who will be third string at best. Johnson probably won't be up to speed in the offense enough to carry it more than five times in Week 1, but will eventually be a big threat to Kevin Smith if Rudi stays healthy. He can be grabbed in all leagues.
