I think we all expect him to be a probowler at some point

My expectations of Dorsey this year are:

1. Chiefs' rookie of the year. He plays a position that has more glitz than Albert, so he ought to win.

2. Record 3-5 sacks. I would hope for more, but rookies typically don't do well in this category. 4 sacks would meet my expectations, and I'd want more next year.

3. Make 40-59 tackles. If a DT makes 40 tackles, that's pretty good. I hear that he's active, so...

4. Be the best defensive tackle on our line. I would hope that Tamba would still be the bigger star this year, since he's got a couple of years under his belt. But Dorsey should be our best tackle.

5. Start 16 games. I probably should've gone with 12-15. 15 starts would meet my expectations.

Truthfully, he ought to be the AFC Defensive Rookie of the Year given his draft position, but I wouldn't say that's an expectation. You never know what's going to happen on that kind of thing.

He needs to play so well that if he retired at the end of the season, he'd be a first ballot Hall of Famer.

I want him to start 1 0r 2 games, and make 120 tackles or more, and record 15+ sacks.

Is that too much to ask?

I think he could make Peyton cry just by looking at him, well a look and a foot stomp.

My expectation is for him to get injured and never live up to his potential, because one, I'm a Chiefs fan, and two, I like to set the bar low as I'm not so much of an I told you so.

I wouldn't mind seeing him gnaw on the bloody entrails of Jay Cutler. BTW, very nice poll!

I'm also going on the fact that things normally work out the opposite way that I expect they well, if that makes you feel better.

I voted for outperform Ryan Sims.

Of course, Ryan Sims has 6 career sacks.....

And that's only 6 more career NFL sacks than I have....and I never played a down in the NFL!!!!

I hope he rips the heads off of all the denver o lineman and puts them on stakes lining the chiefs sideline at arrowhead for display. Then I want CP to come down from his box and scalp one of them and make herm wear it for a hat when they travel to denver for the next game.

Or I would be happy with 4-5 sacks, plenty of batted balls, and about 45 tackles in 15 starts. Either way.

I suppose I'd be happy if he just makes me forget about that whole Ryan Sims thingy. AFC defensive ROY would go a long way towards that.

Bring constant pressure, and get into the backfield.

Bring constant pressure, and get into the backfield.

Command a double-team on every play and occasionally get into the backfield suffices for me.

Good DTs don't put up a lot of stats; they command double-teams. They occupy the OL, which allows DEs and LBs flow into the play and stop it before it can gain momentum. Once in a while the beat a man and blow up a play in the backfield.

It's been a LOOOOONNNNGGGGG time since we had a DT that did this... Joe Phillips & Dan Saleamua come to mind.

I'm not really sure about this year.

In time, it's simple: Be the best DT in the NFL. I had that expectation long before we were lucky enough to grab him.

A lot of people don't know he was disciplined at LSU for having problems with his weight and conditioning. I think he played his Sr. year for a check and expect more of the same at some point.

At least he'll get some people fired though.
