I eat a salad just about everyday for lunch. I usually cook 3-4 boneless chicken breats on Sunday night, cubed for salads. I purchase the Hearts of Romaine from Costco and shread it all on Sunday night as well. I usually add a combo of blueberries, walnuts, cranberries, sunflower seeds, etc., whatever I have on hand. My typical dressing is a raspberry vinaigrette. Salad to go, and a cheap lunch. If I feel like spurging I'll add some 1% cottage cheese to it.

I'd say he likes a very simple salad, such as a ceasar hold the croutons.

for a little over $2, you can make a cheap chicken ceasar salad from Wendy's

just get the side ceasar, a 5 piece nugget, and you are all set

It's fast food, but it's better for you and cheaper than most of the garbage people eat for lunch (when getting fast food)

If I remember correctly....you can eat a grilled chicken sandwich (minus the mayo and double the tomatoes) and a small chili (no cheese or onions) and it only comes out to around 400 calories. Plus there really isn't a lot of fat in it.

It is more about what people do in salad bars, like eating directly out of the containers. I once caught a young boy shoveling sunflower seeds into his mouth with the serving spoon. A lot of people also reach in and grab food with their hands. :shake:

I need to add cucumbers and pepperoncini to your menu. The onion needs to be very thin sliced red onion.

I'll make my own dressing.

1/4 cup olive oil
tablespoon balsamic vinegar
tablespoon white or red wine vinegar
teaspoon oregano
pinch crushed red pepper flakes
kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste

Chopped zucchini (peeled and raw) is really good on salads, though it wouldn't work for a salad bar as it goes bad fairly quickly.

The best salad I've ever had in my life was at a Sizzler's in Anaheim. My wife and I took a couple of days to drive down to Anaheim and pretty much ate a Burger King or McD's all the way down. By the time we got there, I think our bodies were starved for real food. That salad was like manna from heaven. :)
