Dorsey a force against the run. Pass-rush will come.

Savage is a spark. Kolby's pretty good.

DJ rocks.

Flowers and Carr look like keepers.

That's about it.

No wonder they have always used FA for QB because of this "fan" view.

fan view is pretty accurate this go round. The team has never been able to develop a QB.....Croyle experiment doomed by Dick Curl.

The Chiefs pretty much achieved all of their goals for Preseason Game 3:

1. Conditioning the defense for long drives. Check!

2. Testing quarterbacks' abilities to scramble and take a hit. Check!

3. Not reveal any successful offensive plays. Check!

4. Avoid injuries other than the unavoidable McIntosh injury. Check!

5. Practice the defense against kneeldown formations. Check!

6. Rest Branden Albert. Check!

At least I won't have to watch any of their games since it looks like they WON'T be good enough to be shown locally.

From the sounds of it, MU might be the best football team in Missouri right now. (And no, I didn't forget the Rams are there too).

Actually, the D gave up just 11 1st downs, 17 points, 3 forced turnovers, and limited Miami to 50% in RZ efficiency. Aside from the stupid play where Parmele gained 80 yards, the D looks OK.

Now that back up OL is making me feel quite uncomfortable...

Now i didn't watch the game yet, but I have to say, that while you're saying the D looks ok, they also only played Miami. It's not like they are a juggernaut on offense. What happens game one when they face the Pats.

Hey, at least we have a most excellent punter.

I might order a Colquitt jersey. Why the hell not?????????? The guy is badass! If our ****ing cover guys could learn how to down a punt, it would be on the 1 yard line on almost every punt.

Exactly, the D is fine. Everyone is talking about the waiver wire and acquiring another LB but I have no idea how bringing in a guy who doesn't know our system is going to help, at least in the short run. This D will be good this year. I think Channyball will keep them off the field a bit more than Solari's did. Even though we were shut out we had the ball 34 minutes tonight.

Say croyle finishes the season with 17 td's, and 12 interceptions in 12-13 games played on the season. Misses three or four games due to injury. Average ypa around seven, comp pctg in the mid sixties. Pigpen and Huard play in those three or four games and lose most or all of them. In spite of Croyle's slightly promising season, we still finish with a top five draft pick, mostly because Larry cant do shit against 8 in the box, and our defense isn't good enough over the balance of the season to hold opponents under 14 points. Do we draft another QB, or go OL, DL, or linebacker? Anyone think that there's a top five QB coming out next year that wouldn't extend the rebuilding another 3 years while waiting for him to get up to speed? I bet we end up drafting a defensive end or LB.

We are getting our stadium renovated, with state-of-the-art locker rooms and training facilities... so in 2010 and beyond it will be magical... plus Carl is gone then, and free agents will want to come here.

I would almost bet we win a superbowl next decade.

If Croyle's completion % is really 65%, no need to draft a QB. I doubt we'll see that high a %.
I think the derek Andersen/Brady Quinn showdown might be over by next year. Maybe we deal for a young vet like Quinn? As far as the draft, you may be right.

If he puts up those numbers, you absolutely go with the DE, unless a QB is staring you in the face and is a super-can't-miss propsect.

65%, 7ypa (above average), and 17 TDs to only 12 INTs in THIS offense would be fantastic. In a legitimate offense after Herm is fired that should translate, with more help on the OL and perhaps another WR, to around 3500 yards, 25 TD, 15 INT.
