NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that Osi Umenyiora will need surgery on his injured knee and miss the entire 2008 season.
The details of Umenyiora's injury and surgery are unknown, but this is a huge loss. The Giants could handle Michael Strahan retiring because of Justin Tuck, but losing Umenyiora will force them to either move linebacker Mathias Kiwanuka to right end or start old journeyman Renaldo Wynn there. Tuck will likely see more double teams on the strong side now, hurting his IDP value.

We should shop Hali to them. Maybe they are dumb enough to give us a 3rd.

Strahan will be back before the start of the season. With a nice raise I imagine as well. I'll bet his people have already made that call.

Looks like Osi will have plenty of time to Cleveland Steam the bitches.

Wow, that sucks for them.

They'll probably move Kiawanuka back to D-line and with Spagnoulo, maybe not even miss a beat.

Drag for Osi, though.

The Giants are going to finish last in their division this season.
