Become next Dante Hall?

He looks quite the same and runs the same. Similar size. Similar position on the roster... our RB squad doesn't need another back like Savage (we've got Charles) but he could very well break through as a WR (there's NOBODY on our squad).

Well I wouldn't say there isn't anybody,we do have D-Bowe. It does sound interesting though. I mean, can he be any worse than Darling?

And Franklin just had a minor knee injury... he didn't get hit by a bus or anything. :cuss:

I don't know. That didn't work out too well for Dante Hall. His kick returns suffered when he started getting significant playing time at wide receiver.

Yeah I think he is only supposed to be out 2 weeks. I think this guy could be a solid WR for us for a long time though. I also like price a lot to. Outside of them and Bowe though, im not to hopeful.

Dante wasn't a very good receiver, you should've said he could be the next Wes Welker...

I see no problem in keeping Savage on the roster as a RB but basically just keeping him on as a return guy. I see no difference in having 4 HB's compared to having 6 CB's. I thinking having 4 HB's on this team would be more useful.

Savage can definitely elude would-be tacklers and scramble around...

so...I'm thinking he deserves to be converted to...

QB!

Savage is the best RB on the squad. The receivers should be Bowe, Price, Franklin and Webb, in that order.
Converting players is almost always a bad idea. See: KC Chiefs FBs 2006-2007.
Dantrell Savage is the one RB on the team who will be able to create his own big plays even when the OL whiffs. See: Barry Sanders.

I hardly think adding a non WR to the WR squad improves the WR squad.

why don't we try line backer at HB? oh wait.....

WR isn't the problem. QB and a line to protect is.

I like Savage. We have to keep him for something. Kick offs and punt returns and we can send Sams or Darling packing.

If Savage gets cut, some decision-making idiot still deserves to be called an idiot.
Samms = overrated.
I'm sure we'll see a lot of Savage at the end of games we already lost this year if he sticks.

A 5'8" WR?

Dante would have been better off if we were a RB. Remember how they experimented with Dante at RB, but he was no good. That was when the Chiefs had less talent at WR then they do today.

Savage is a good RB so there is no reason to convert.

That wasn't an experiment. That was Hall's position when he was drafted.

I agree Huffman. If he's on the roster, he needs to be a RB. Last year we went through 5 runningbacks.

The more depth we have in the RB position the better IMO, Especially since we have some talent there.

Savage is not Devin Hester. Keep him at RB, have him return punts and shift in as a change of pace guy. A lot of the stuff we threw to Dante was essentially an extension of the running game anyways.

I like that people are thinking outside the box though.

Savage should be used like the Chargers used Sproles early on. I still think Charles is going to be a beast.

that's what we do
convert 1 successfully and fail miserably the next 15

Kris Wilson should be the starting RB.

No. He's just fine at RB. He and Charles in a split back set on third and long would look nice.

This is ridiculous to even discuss....we all know he's going to get cut for Sam's club

SNR

My line of thinking was he needs to find a place SOMEWHERE on the roster (like Hall) in order to make the squad and return kicks, and that it appears he won't get any reps at RB for awhile.

This is no more or less retarded than Direckshun insisting we trade Tony Gonzalez

While we're talking about Sam's Choice, who is the special teams coach again?
Doesn't our special teams look eerily similar to last years special teams?
