31. Kansas City Chiefs
Why there's hope: This is what's great about sports. The Chiefs are the youngest team in the NFL. Hello!!?!!! K.C. just has to hope those young players are good enough to win the game.

Why there's doubt: Call me a cynic if you’d like, but I’m going out on a limb and saying Brodie Croyle is not the next Len Dawson…he’s not even the next Todd Blackledge. This team’s strength used to be that bruising offensive line L.J. ran through. Now, it’s a weakness.

27. Oakland Raiders
Why there’s hope: Oakland is hyped for ’08. A slew of big name acquisitions—Darren McFadden, DeAngelo Hall, Gibril Wilson, Javon Walker, Drew Carter (now toast), Tommy Kelly, William Joseph, etc.—have Raider Nation amped.

Why there’s doubt: Names don’t equal wins. This just feels like a Daniel Snyder offseason, and we all know how those usually turn out.

22. Denver Broncos
Why there’s hope: In ’07, Jay Cutler showed flashes of greatness and Brandon Marshall (a.k.a. Ronald McDonald) was a difference maker. But the man on the move is Cole Trickle…I mean Eddie Royal…who has impressed Mike Shanahan early in camp.)

Why there’s doubt: The great offensive line was nothing better than pedestrian last year, and now they have to replace retiree Matt Lepsis. But more alarming: The Broncos D allowed over 150 yards rushing in seven games last year.

But, but, but... The AFC West is the best division in football.

Comcast sports? Now there's a well known reporting sporting group.

Comcast sports? Now there's a well known reporting sporting group.

Comcast has quite a few regional sport networks that are like FSN around here.

Really? I guess Metro Sports would probably be included in that, no?

No MetroSports isnt in that. Comcast is really just like FSN in northern California, Chicago, and out east.

That's pretty comcastic, but I wonder who they ranked behind us.

Anyway, these guys will all change their tune once they see our young guys play. When the Kansas City N00bs (sp?) spank New England's decrepit, old, broken down asses and make Bellicheat cry like the little girl who lost her banky, we'll start getting some respect. We'll be redefining positions in the NFL all over the place.

If I were Comcast, wouldn't consider putting out stuff like that with the company name on it. Where is Verizon's list of the 5 worst current bands? I know bad we hate them. Just raise the ****ing price again and keep your opinions to your self. Oh yeah, throttle my upload speed even harder while you are at it. Not a good idea to piss anybody else off!

Why no mention of WPI? They have about the same credibility as Comcrap.

This is the first time I can ever remember not being super hyped about the new season.

They ranked Atlanta behind us. After Saturday's "performance" against Miami it's hard for me to believe anybody could be ranked behind us.

if overpaying for mediocre players in free agency won super bowls then no one would ever win them but oakland

I don't think that Denver will be that bad this year, I guess time will tell. I wish the season would start already.

We are by far the worst out of the mentioned AFC West trio. I can't believe they ranked Atlanta behind us. IMO, we're the absolute worst team in the NFL.

Think about this, How many coaches will stay with a team regardless of the so called rebuilding when you have records like Herm has posted...

2007 9-7
2008 4-12
2009 4-12 (no more than 6 no less than 2, so average)

That is a combined 17-31, take Herm the Great last 4 years and he is 21-43.

Not quite the record for someone you want leading your franchise...

ATL was bad last year but will be multitudes better this year.... KC on the other hand... we'll see I guess.
