Would this be related to GMC being better off if we did drill, no hold bar?

And criticized it as well. For taxing the oil companies. Because she's in bed with them.

Because she's a MAVERICK.

No, she stated the reason for resigning from the ethics committee was because they did not offer her a kick back due to her inexperience.

She has moved up and they offered and she will accept the drilling because she is more experienced, plus the kick back Alaska will pony up now.

Well to be completely fair, there's probably somewhere around 15 milllion guys that would feel that same way.

You might be surprised about my taxation stance on oil companies. There are ways to tax oil and gas companies, because their production facilities are impossible to move. They must operate where the resources are.

Automobile plants and factories that make cute fuzzy animals or sneakers that become faddish are almost impossible to tax, simply because it's cheaper for them to move to other countries that won't tax them because they are providing essential jobs for developing economies.

There's a balance that is difficult to achieve with oil companies drilling and developing domestically right now. Tax them too much, they may look elsewhere, or they may only contribute to the increasing price of oil.

The problem is, that consumers get to pay either way for a while.

Business never pays. Government never pays. They only collect from us.

I'd be interested in hearing about your short-term ideas, because I think we missed a great chance at long-term ideas back in the 1970s.

I think we have only long-term ideas once again, 30 years later, and 20-30 years away.

As someone who grew up in the "Space Age", I really expected Cold Fusion to be solved by the time I graduated high school in the 80's. There is no doubt in my mind that Americans hold the key to solving this energy issue.

Without being too specific, one of my best friend's father designs power plants all over the world and he state emphatically that if it weren't for the powerful oil lobbies, cold fusion would have been solved long ago.

How does taxing the oil companies help anything? That will be passed on to the average Joe schmuck.

Except if you actually read the article, you'll see that she didn't. But whatever...
