That's what happens when you get a couple hundred politically active minds together and the entire blogosphere on the case.

I don't know if you can ever fully vet someone, even if you have a team of 20 guys thinking of every creative attack possible, and the blogosphere will still find more. It's just that simple.

So there's no way you can completely vet a pick like VP. But you can try -- the puzzling thing about the Palin pick is that it honestly didn't even look like McCain's campaign tried.
