The Foggy Mountain Breakdown jam is freaking awesome.

Thanks. Wow. Very Talented guy. Awesome bluegrass.

Now maybe he could be in a Real band one day. instead of being Axle's puppet. Which is exactly what he looks like.

He should ditch the bucket. He's talented enough to not need a stupid gimmick.

He's not Axel's puppet by any means. He's used the Buckethead persona since 1988. You're right in saying that he doesn't need the gimmick; his music does speak for itself.

But what you don't know is that Buckethead is weird, weird, weird guy. His persona makes perfect sense within the context of his (often strange) music.

Sometimes buckethead noodles faster than the background music. Which is annoying to me because I like good, funky, blues jams in sync, but he is an awesome talent obvouisly.

Buckethead don't need to be in a "real band." His solo stuff is amazing. Bow down before your new God:

He's technically awesome, but I don't think he posseses that thing inside him that can make his guitar force people to feel what the music or song is trying to get a across, like, I don't know, a .......Slash for instance.

You have lost the ability to feel then:

Sometimes. What really blew me away about Slash is that he could dance with Mr. Brownstone all day, and be on a screwdriver binge, and still come out, and rip it.

Hell I can't drink 5 beers, and play pink floyd's slow ass licks.

Sometimes it's better not to hit the notes. Gives it more of a grimey feel. Like pissing on yourself with a bottle of jack and not giving a *****

That 8+ minute video was a song called "Soothsayer," my fav. track by him.

The trouble with Buckethead is that 75% of his stuff is so off-the-wall, avant garde, and downright crazy. The other problem is that he is as prolific as any guitar player possibly could be. The sheer amount of material he has released is intimidating. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckethead_discography ) There are heart-felt gems spread throughout his material, but finding them is a task indeed.

I've spent the better part of two years, off and on, trying to find mind-blowing stuff in this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Search_of_The
but it's hard to keep those tracks straight.

One of the most prolific and creative musical artist of our time. I don't throw out the term "genius" for just anybody, but Brian Carroll, aka Buckethead, has earned the title. Incredible.

In the realm of guitar, there are a number of innovators that I consider to be creative geniuses. Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, Andres Segovia, Satch, others...

Anyway... I'll be there Tuesday night.

I'll be there. Look for the big bald guy with the grey goatee, black short sleeve button shirt, grey shorts, black New Balance trainers and titanium glasses drinking a microbrew - watch on the right hand.
