And it's still not over. The tide can turn again. Considering the shallowness of the McCain campaign, it's not unlikely that they will overreach in a way that will leave them exposed in a big way. There is already a lot of low hanging fruit that has not been scrutinized by the corporate media.

If only the democrats could ever muster up the gall to package it all in a way that would define McCain's character similar to what republicans did to define Gore as an exaggerator and Kerry as a flip-flopping dishonorable Viet Nam Vet. But they're just to pussified to do it.

However, one major gaffe or mistatement by McCain or Palin may just do the job for them. It could simultaneously shine a light on the pretense and pull all of that previously unscrutinized low hanging fruit together in a way that could equate to revelation for the voting public.

But then again, we are still waiting for Bush and Cheney to be held accountable for the fraud they've perpetrated on this country so I'm not holding my breath. I guess it would also require a population that is not so shallow that it doesn't care if it's being manipulated.

My interpretation is that once again the Dems may lose an election they should and could have won handily if only they had nominated a reasonable candidate.
By reasonable I mean a candidate that represented the dems one strong point, change, without bringing with him so many negative points that the voting public still won't elect him.
Bush is as defeatable a target as the Dems have seen in many years yet he will finish as a two-termer because the DNC ran out Gore then Kerry against him.

Naaahh.....democrats are all sleazy dishonorable pieces of shit who are more interested in their own ambition than in serving the public interest. Don't forget that I'm a racist.

According to "Life Diversity Facilitation Training," at the University of Deleware...

A RACIST: A racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist) system. The term applies to all white people (i.e., people of European descent) living in the United States, regardless of class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality. By this definition, people of color cannot be racists, because as peoples within the U.S. system, they do not have the power to back up their prejudices, hostilities, or acts of discrimination.

I thought it was quite funny.

rest assured I am certainly not trying to entertain you.

However the ingenious "we don't care what you got your rocks off to tonight" THAT WAS BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT I SAY BRILLIANT

oh yeah i see what you were trying to do, I said "those 3 guys are like the gay 3 stooges" and then that's when the ""we don't care what you got your rocks off to tonight" comment came into play

THAT WAS BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT I SAY BRILLIANT

Lots of people go to community college for 7 years. I'm sure it'll work out eventually.

I doubt you'll ever be my boss, as my career path will not have me employed as a carnival worker. You'll probably climb the ladder quickly though, given your ability to multitask as the bearded lady AND tilta whirl operator.

The fact that you would even attempt to defend him as not being far left is humorous to say the least. 8 Years on the board of the Joyce foundation trying to eliminate all civilian ownership of firearms defines Obama on the gun issue. To call me stupid on that makes you look rather.....well stupid.

As far as socialism is concerned, (Not sure what you mean by "around these parts") it is alive and well in the Americas. See Venezuela. The only thing that's real
My comments tear a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

What have you become

I wish you all would go away
In the end
And you think you know it all
How govt should work
they will let you down
So we make your butt hurt

Obviously, there are different degrees of socialism, but that doesn't change the nature of what we're talking about. Europe is way too socialist for me. The US is too socialist for me, but it's considerably better than Europe. Europe can afford the self-indulgence because they have the US security umbrella keeping them safe from the outside world, but their socialism has made them weak.

Dude relax. I was pulling your chain about being wet behind the ears. I do think that it is possible that you lack the same perspective of some the others around here. I know I certainly do and I'm not afraid to admit. You see, I am educated in the whole liberal arts thing and I have to say that it did not prepare me one bit for what the real world is like. Just a bunch of idealistic, artsy fartsy, radical, blame the man BS. I found out that I do have to pay my bills, that I do have to be personally responsible, that I can't keep running to mom and dad, and that I am not the single most important thing in the world.

BTW- you are correct in your assertion about Europe and socialist tendencies. Helping the people is one thing, but doing and providing for them is another. Nothing is free in this life, SOMEBODY always has to pay. I just think that the "PAY" burden should be equitable and as little as possible. I mean, if we had a government surplus, aren't we being taxed too much???

Even "communistic russia" (by which I presume you mean the Soviet Union) wasn't fully socialist. For example, I believe some Soviet farmers were allowed to keep a portion of their crop for personal consumption rather than turning it all over to the state for distribution.

We've never seen and we probably never will see a fully socialist state so to whine about calling a partially socialist state "socialist" seems silly to me.
