I believe that if we go 0-5, Herm will be fired then and there. Wish it would happen earlier.

I want to know what it will take for Herm AND Carl to be fired. Carl Peterson makes me sick, and Herm plays gutless, predictable football. He did in New York and he is continuing the tradition here.

I love the Chiefs, but it is growing harder and harder to root for them to win, least Herm might look like he knows what he is doing.

That's a good question, I know there are some here who believe that even if they go 0-16 or 1-15 that no one will get fired.

If that happens, i will seriously consider not being a fan of this franchise for a few years. That would be a major insult to me and the rest of the loyal fanbase.

OK, let's talk about this rationally.

IF Herm was fired tomorrow, who do you think is going to replace him?

They're NOT going to bring someone in from the outside in the middle of the season.

Therefore, the new Head Coach of the Kansas City Chiefs would likely be.....

Gunther Cunningham.

I find it insulting already, Carl has been here 20 years and won jack and they basically refuse to get rid of him.

They say guys like Jerry Jones are meddlers, atleast he gives a shit.

Dude Herm isn't getting fired this season. Its a re-building season so losses aren't going to get him fired half way into the season.

It will fall on the Gm and HC in the off season and we all agree they should both be canned.

All I'm going to say is if this team is 1-15 2-14 bad something like that, and no one is fired we will be a running joke in every NFL circle from the TV to the other teams in the league.

I'm not sure what a mid-season coaching change would accomplish. All the assistants will end up finishing the season, all the mentally bankrupt schemes would still be there. Just clean the slate at the end of the season.

They would probably make chan gailey HC then depending on how many wins he gets before the end of the season he will either be fired or keep the HC job which im fine with.

he's here for the entire season; his golden parachute ( as well as Clark's etc) is already in place: the 'rebuilding' we're apparently undergoing.

...and no way Cowher, or any other legit coach (although I don't want Cowher or any other prior Chiefs blood), will sign on mid-season.

Seriously hope they suck ass then, the only way to be rid of these guys is that it's so bad there's no choice.

If we have a 1-15 year and no one is fired I think it's pretty obvious we're wasting our time.

Initially good logic, but not so fast. The big question really lies with Clark, as the losses pile up and thus goes his reputation with the fans and the NFL as to what type of owner he is IMHO. Does he want to be seen as a "do-nothing owner" who lets the GM and coaches run the team further in the ground as the season goes on and set the team back even farther for the start of next season? Or does he show everyone on both sides how big his balls are and starts swinging them to send a message that a lack of progress will NOT be tolerated.

The Pressure at this point is really on Clark IMO as to when the team cannot get anyworse than it is,and when he starts swinging his demolition balls, if he has any does he make this move.:thumb:

Clark has a chance at the end of this year to carve out his own niche seperate from his father.

This offseason will tell us alot about what he truly wants from this franchise.

Will he do nothing? Or will he clean house and start developing his own legacy?

If we don't win next week we might not have another winnable game until the end of November when we get another crack at the Raiders. Look at our schedule:

at Atlanta Falcons 12:00 PM CBS
09/28/08 Denver Broncos 12:00 PM CBS
10/05/08 at Carolina Panthers 12:00 PM CBS
10/12/08 Bye
10/19/08 Tennessee Titans 12:00 PM CBS
10/26/08 at New York Jets 12:00 PM CBS
11/02/08 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 12:00 PM FOX
11/09/08 at San Diego Chargers 3:15 PM CBS
11/16/08 New Orleans Saints 12:00 PM FOX*
11/23/08 Buffalo Bills 12:00 PM CBS*
11/30/08 at Oakland Raiders

Herm might extend the streak to 21 straight losses.

I fear he will clean house. Much like Chief fans hope Al lives to be 200 years old, Raider fans hope Carl stays in power. Clark Hunt has been very out spoken that he wants a winning team, much more out spoken than his father ever was. I think this year was out of loyalty and I think next year he cleans house to avoid wasting this youth movement
