Just found out right now that my grandfather just suffered a heart attack, and is being air-lifted to Wichita, KS.

*sigh* I'm just loss of words now and just couldn't type well. So prayers and thoughts surely would be appreciated...

Thanks,

Coach

Very sorry to hear, Mr. Coach. Very sorry. The beautiful and witty Mrs. FAX and I are on it.

By the way, my mother was life-flighted to Wichita when she had her recent heart attack and stroke. She arrived in very desperate condition having twice completely lost heart function. She left there, however, in very good shape. I can't express in words how impressed I was with their medical team ... the entire facility, actually. They have an absolutely incredible heart unit. I have had lots of hospital experience and have never been exposed to a more professional, talented group. Take heart. Your grandfather could not hope to be in a better place or for better care.

I just was on quickly to type out what I found at the time, before making the 3+ hour drive to Wichita. It was actually 99% blocked, his major arteries that leads to his heart (that's my understanding, so don't 100% quote me on that) and when the doctor found that out, he was totally suprised that grandpa was standing with a 99% blockage in the heart.

Doc said that if it was somebody else, it would have almost kill them. It was very serious, hence the reason why they're having surgery tomorrow (Tuesday) in the morning. So it looks like they are going to do a bypass. How many, I do not know as of this moment, as the doctors are so damned anal about it.

So it looks like in about six hours, I'll be getting up again and heading back to Wichita (Am in a small town with my folks as of this moment) for the surgery in the morning.

And he's 78.

Just got back from Wichita. Grandfather (my mom's side) had a triple bypass surgery today at noon, and surgery took about six and half hours. Surgery went well, but still has high blood pressure and is having a little trouble breathing on his own.

So unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to see him tonight, per doctors orders, and I most certainly won't be able to see him tomorrow, since I will have to get up in 3 in the morning to drive back to KC to have my other grandpa (my dad's side) who is having surgery on his eye in six in the morning.

So, yeah, it's been a uneventful week thus far.

G-pa in Wichita is breathing on his own, is recovering slowly, but is recovering nonethless. Still will be in the hospital for over the weekend, which is expected. He's about to talk, and is able to get around gingerly with some assistance. Doc is suprised with the recovery, and wouldn't be suprised if he's feeling good tomorrow to Friday. They will still keep him in over the weekend, no matter what.

Gp-a in KC had his surgery on the eye area, and was thought to come home on the same day (In the evening) but the doctors are gonna keep him overnight for observation since he's having incision is still draining, but other than that, everything seems to be going well.

Thank you for the kind thoughts and prayers. It is greatly appreciated.

Glad to hear things are going his way as much as they can be. Spend as much time with him as you can, some of us never knew our grandparents at all.
