Just curious as to if your state requires you to be registered, if you are registered and as what….and really what is the purpose of being registered in the first place..
The only reason I can come up with for requiring registration is to provide a cheap data base for the parties..
I have never been a registered member of any part, (since Missouri has never required this quaint ritual), nor would I care to be.

required reg in NC--Dem--kind of irritating as they switched precincts like swingers-wives for a few years there, but now things have settled down...why register?-can't say other than allows for more gubment tab keeping.

Registered dem. Oregon is still a closed primary state, which is a good thing. All open primaries do is make it easier for Republicans to tamper with Democratic elections and vice versa.
