Forgive me if this is a repost -- I don't get much time to cruise the Planet these days.

And yes this is real, not from the Onion!

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.

The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.

Forester was a major donor for Clinton earning her the title as a Hillraiser for helping to raise at least $100,000 for the New York Democratic senator’s failed presidential bid.

In an interview with CNN this summer, Forester did not hide her distaste for eventual Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

“This is a hard decision for me personally because frankly I don't like him,” she said of Obama in an interview with CNN’s Joe Johns. “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”

Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York.

Lynn Forester de Rothschild, Member of DNC Platform Committee, Endorses John McCain

ARLINGTON, VA -- Today the McCain-Palin campaign announced the endorsement of Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee's Platform Committee.

"In an election as important as this, we must choose the candidate who has a proven record of bipartisanship and reforming government, and that's John McCain," Rothschild said. "We can't afford a president who lacks experience and judgment and has never crossed party lines to work for meaningful reform. Amid tough economic times and foreign policy concerns, we need someone who is ready to lead. Although I am a Democrat, I recognize that it's more important to put country ahead of party and that's why I support John McCain."

Rothschild, an attorney and businesswoman, supported Sen. Clinton during the Democratic primaries. She will campaign for Sen. McCain through Election Day.

Saw her interview on FOX. Compelling. Not too many GOP higher ups stumping for Obama/Biden.

Would love to know exactly what her case was for asserting Obama is an "elitist". Was it something along the lines of "my picture is in the dictionary next to the word 'elitist' so obviously I'm an expert at spotting them"?

Apparently you guys don't really understand what elitism is and why it's objectionable. You're too committed to your class war to get away from thinking about money. Elitism has more to do with a person's attitudes and beliefs than it does with their net worth. Barack Obama's elitism has everything to do with his belief that he's "what we've been waiting for". His comments about rural folks who cling to guns and religion and about being the catalyst for the turning back of the ocean feed his elitist image.

I don't know anything about this Rothschild lady, and I'm sure that there's at least some irony in her statement, but it's very possible that she's more down to earth than our gift from a leftist god,

your assumptions are based on facts not in evidence, and The Rothschild dynasty has been a major controlling factory for hundreds of years. Do a little research you may be shocked.

What assumptions?

And when I said I didn't know anything about the Rothschild lady, I didn't mean that I didn't know about the dynastic wealth of the Rothschilds. I meant that I didn't know anything about this particular individual's attitudes and beliefs.
