I don't know if this has been posted but...

White Power: The Republican Base

I will catch you up on my adventures in DC in a separate entry, because I am so livid I can barely type. My hands are shaking and I am crying because I have never in my life seen so much hate congregated together, so much plotting the unthinkable and so much encouragement of total derangement as though rabid nationalism coupled with lunacy were somehow a good thing.

Onwards then. I went back to the Hinckley last night, which I will explain in more detail in a separate post. Suffice it to stay that I stayed overnight and snuck into the festivities of the KKK cloaked in "values" convention and all of its obscene pornography of hate. Now, I was not allowed to take pictures of the racist, hateful, misogynistic items on display in the exhibit hall because only "authorized" people were allowed to take pictures and record a public event in a public hotel. I did manage, however, to purchase one of the best selling products of this confederacy and using my cell phone, took pictures of the box. Forgive me for how blurry the pictures are. The fuzziness is the result of both my shaking hands and my cell phone's shitty camera.

The first picture below is the front of the waffle box and it is startling in its overt racism. I asked the "chef" of this ugly version of reality if he was at all concerned that this might be viewed as a white man putting a black man into a frying pan and he laughed and said "I hope so."

Now for the far more disturbing part of this product.

As you can see, it shows an image of Obama as a turbaned "Osama" and the text in the red box says "Point the box toward Mecca for tastier waffles."

Now this in and of itself did not get me to the point where tears began streaming down my sunburned face. No, it was the conversations I overheard as I wondered around looking at the hate porn being sold and marketed to the stupid and/or racist.

I sat down to look at the waffle box near the deli outside of the exhibit and I overheard two women discussing the notion - frightening to them - that if Obama were to become president there would be more black babies in America.

And right behind these two fine twisted sisters were a group of older men discussing that this election should be treated (and I wrote this down) "as nothing short of WWII" and that "liberal fascism had to be defeated the way [the US] defeated Hitler."

With that I was rushing past security, past the wholly unholy anointed voters of God and directly to fresh air where I could breath because I had this horrible feeling that there was no air left anywhere in the Hinckley. I am not a registered Democrat or Republican and no journalist should be registered with any party frankly. I am an Independent voter. But I will tell you this, under no circumstances are these people to be allowed anywhere near government. Their values are simply this: hate blacks, hate liberals, hate Jews who are not part of the end of times scenario, hate women and above all, declare an all out war on anyone who disagrees with them. These people are in fact the horror of the worst kind that is plaguing America. I saw one journalist (although I was undercover so I could watch and listen without being followed as the others were) visibly as shaken as I was. I won't name him, but he was calling in a story to his editor over the phone and what became clear is that he overheard the black baby conversation and ran out as upset as I was. I saw Lou Dobbs, but he was simply making the rounds. I also saw Mike Allen of Politico, but again, I was trying to be invisible, so I came up to no one at this point (that happened last night, which I will write more about later).

I don't see anything wrong with that box of waffles. It's a gag and it's funny. It's the same kind of lampooning that someone called "the greatest campaign poster ever (http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=191917)".

The report is over the top and I have to believe that the author is a crackhead.
