View Full Version : Movies and TV Question about HDMI cables

I recently purchased a surround sound system and spent 70.00 each for two 1080p Rockfish hdmi cables(one to run from ps3 for blu rays, and one for the tv). I noticed hdmi cables on ebay for like 10.00 that are the same size, if not longer, and also 1080p. Is this one just a lot better or did a get ****ed by Best Buy? I can still take these back, I haven't opened them..so what do you guys think?

Those cables are cheap. Directv HD receivers come with them.

Take them back. I have a friend who works at BB and he got me the same cables for $10. That's how much they mark them up.

Yep.....Best Buy has outrageous mark up on cables and peripherals.

Pretty much what has been said above. There is no differance in the cable except how much you take i up the arse in paying for them. You think Best Buy screwed you, you should walk into a Sony store some time, they don't even give you a kiss on the cheek or a pat on the ass, they just rape you and throw you back outside.

HDMI cables carry a digital signal. It's immune from RF or EM interference. It either gets there or it doesn't. You don't need ridiculous shielding.

As they have said, monoprice is perfectly fine. Those Rocketfish cables you paid 70 bucks for cost BB 5 dollars. That's where they make their money on you.

Yes, you need to take those back.

I have bought 7 HDMI cables from www.monoprice.com and they work fine.

Just make sure on monoprice they are 1.3a HDMI cables.
