This is my thing with this and some of the people who post here about her..
In all honesty, if the situations where reversed and Barack Obama had picked Sarah Palin (let's say in this scenario she's an independent or democrat now) would the conservatives who post here really be going out of their way justify any argument? Or justifying anything she's said or done in the last three weeks? Of course not. They'd be howling with laughter and calling her the most incompetent VP pick of all time. And rightfully so.
If you're want to say your going to vote for the ticket, and just pray nothing happens to John McCain, that might be more understandable. But anyone trying to justify the Sarah Palin pick, especially after THAT interview, is making themselves look foolish.

But that doesn't make Couric's socialist, scare-tactics, elitist, charade of being on the taxpayer's side but really bailing-out-billionaire-banksters-profits position correct either. So once again, Couric is the ignoramus here too.
Couric would be made mince-meat on economics and banking if she was interviewing Ron Paul. She'd be out of her league too.

In case you would not/could not listen......
COURIC: Why isn’t it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries? … Instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?
PALIN: Ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up the economy– Oh, it’s got to be about job creation too. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions.
Okay so Palin didn't really answer her question.

Obama doesn't look unprepared. He's been preparing for two years plus. That's why he was able to go toe to toe with a 26 year Senate vet. Palin doesn't look like she has even thought about most issues of national importance for more than five minutes unless it is abortion. That's the troubling part.

Accepting the story that you are a laywer, a prosecutor, do you not use your notes in court?
Your comment is pretty hypocritical considering a person that is not accustomed to being in the national spot light is expected to be as seasoned as someone that has been playing that game all their life.
Nobody knows how effective Palin would be as VP or even as President and virtually all of the liberals are unwilling to give her a fair shot.
I'd like to see the other unqualified candidates get the same questions in the same manner as Palin has received them. It's only your opinion they would be answered to your satisfaction (overlooking the obvious bias in the situation).
The biggest concern you should have is if she is not qualified but the voting public has symphathy for her and McCain is elected. Considering the witch hunt the liberals have mounted the actual fitness to be VP or President have not been addressed. The end result is that the democrats are going to come off as total sexist assholes.
It's all really a moot point as Obama is not electable.

So Obama has been preparing for 4 years, since the last election, you have to be honest here. He is less of a Senator and more of a candidate on the national scene.
As stated earlier, Palin has had a couple of months to get up to speed and you expect her to be there over night. Very hypocritical.

Don't know why I've decided to reply to you today, as there's really no hope for you to offer a reply with anything other than hate and idiocy, but...
Of course I use notes in court, cases are fact specific and you have to keep track of what the other side is attempting to do in the case. It's a fluid situation. If you see your attorney sitting there starting at the ceiling with his mouth agape, you might be in trouble.
But these weren't fact specific questions that Couric was asking Palin, they were general opinion policy questions. "What do you think about x?" The problem is that she doesn't know what she thinks about it. She was told by her handlers what the party's platform is supposed to be on that issue, but she can't remember it and was not previously aware of her own party's general economic policies.

Once again you start out with slurs and insults. Very showing and hypocritical on your part. Too bad you aren't adult enough to just respond as such.
Also, you are determining that she should be 100% up to speed with the NATIONAL party's general economic policies as if she had been using those very policies in Alaska. You expect more out of her than is possible at the moment. Ask those same questions of Biden and Obama and you get the answers you want to hear as a liberal. You don't hear what you want from Palin because she is on the other side and your prejudice clouds any precept that may come out.
I'm not saying that she is 100% good to go, but I am saying that she hasn't been given fair opportunity to get up to speed. Could you jump into the election at the same time she was put in as the VP candidate and come off as being fully cognizant of the total package? I know your answer, but I seriously doubt that you or any other person could.

Should McCain/Palin win... and God forbid 3 months into his presidency McCain would die or become incapacitated, Sarah Palin would not be QUALIFIED or even ALLOWED to make presidential decisions.
There would be a vacuum of power at the top. She would become the figurehead of our government.
Just like there is now with George Bush.
there is just no way McCain can win with Palin as VP ..... is there?

No, it's pretty much just your candidate that sucks. The Republicans have huge advantages that come from a homogeneous voter bloc.
It takes a once-in-a-generation politician for the Democrats to win a presidential election because they have to try an coalesce a very disparate group, convince them to actually vote (rather than just passively "support"), and try and not say something that will benefit one at the expense of several others.
However, the increasing urbanization and demographic shift of this country is going to lead to a major political realignment, and it's not a good one for you guys.

It's not ideological in that I am relying on deductive reasoning from some ideological point. ( unless it's a Constitutional argument because I support what that gives us.) I used to be a liberal Democrat though. I came to my current opinions through inductive reasoning from continued learning and experience having a business. This implies it did not start on an ideological basis but on a system of economics, that is based on how things really are and operate. You're the ideologue here. Didn't you say you were an anarcho-socialist? I think so. Now stop projecting. That is the penultimate clueless ideology.

As I've said, most people who are interested in economic issues would appear more informed and prepared than her. You say she's not 100% "good to go". She's not 10% good to go, and we're having an election in less than 40 days!
And, as I challenged you earlier, and you predictably ignored, could you point out when Obama seemed so woefully unprepared and had to use flash cards?

OK, Hamas. If my candidate sucks and Obama is overwhelmingly awesome the Democrats should be running away with this thing, right?
You may have read the post, but it's pretty obvious you didn't comprehend the post.
And regarding the Perot myth:
"Exit polling indicated that Perot voters would have split their votes fairly evenly between Clinton and Bush had Perot not been in the race [17], and an analysis by FairVote - Center for Voting and Democracy suggested that, while Bush could have won more electoral votes with Perot out of the race, he would not have gained enough to reverse Clinton's victory.[18] Clinton also led Bush in all polls after the Democratic Convention after Ross Perot's initial exit in two-way races, and never lost the lead for the rest of the campaign."

The point is that the GOP could be running Hilter and the Dems could be running Jesus Christ himself, and the race would still be close. Does that mean that Jesus is a bad candidate? No, it means that the majority of voting blocks are locked in to vote with their party with unswerving loyalty.

The next to last clueless ideology? LMAO
Yes, I have described myself as an anarcho-socialist, and for the most part, I still would. However, that does not mean I advocate such policies for an entire government writ large. Too inefficient. I favor a mixed economy a la many countries in Western Europe and Scandinavia, and have made that apparent several times on here.
What I'm bagging on you about is the fact that all of your ideology comes from Ron Paul or Lew Rockwell. It's an incredibly myopic world view, and it makes you about as much of a critical thinker as recxjake.
The fact of the matter is that you have a flash card ideology that anyone on this forum can easily disseminate
Free markets= panacea
People who don't support free markets= communists
People who agree with you on foreign policy= practical
People who disagree= neocons

Without fail, you always lose track of what you've said in every argument. You may seriously want to get yourself checked for Alzheimer's.
So Obama has been preparing for 4 years, since the last election, you have to be honest here. He is less of a Senator and more of a candidate on the national scene.
As stated earlier, Palin has had a couple of months to get up to speed and you expect her to be there over night. Very hypocritical.
The obvious logical inference is that there should be some point at which Obama looked as ungloriously prepared as Palin. Of course your argument is ridiculous, because there isn't any such evidence, nor would there be. There are simply some people who are just wholly unsuited for the gig, maybe you could produce an example of a politician who fits this theory of yours that even if someone looks like a total neophyte in the beginning, then they would rapidly progress within several months to having the sophistication necessary to be the leader of the free world?

Obama doesn't look unprepared. He's been preparing for two years plus. That's why he was able to go toe to toe with a 26 year Senate vet. Palin doesn't look like she has even thought about most issues of national importance for more than five minutes unless it is abortion. That's the troubling part.
"I said thenks, but no thenks. But can somebody tell me what it is a Vice President does every day?" :D

I wouldn't write it off. If Palin were Obama's running mate I would have to conclude that Obama was not nearly as smart as I thought he was. In that scenario I wouldn't vote at all. I don't have near as much problem with McCain as I do with Palin. I disagree with McCain about a lot of things but the man is certainly smart and qualified, as are Obama and Biden. Palin is the "which of these things doesn't belong?" of the group.
If a McCain/Romney ticket won the election I'd be a bit disappointed. If the McCain/Palin ticket wins I'll be seriously worried - mostly about the old guy's health.

Nothing is funnier than a society full of people so inept that they will still vote this way, this is why using phrases like "the voters aren't as stupid as you think" doesn't fly. The general public is stupid, when you can run this ticket with all those mistakes and still be close that's all that can be said.
This is going to go against all this country is trying to be, but honestly, there oughta be a simple test of 3 or 4 questions to pass, before one is granted the right to vote. Nothing hard, just the stuff that Leno asks street people. You pass a simple test, you get to register for vote.
