I also would like to make a comment that TBS scheduling is so dumb. I wish MLB would never let TBS broadcast the playoffs again....

How is it dumb? and i think its MLB that actually does the scheduling.

How is it dumb? and i think its MLB that actually does the scheduling.

When there's a game going on at 2:30 EST or earlier, not many people are going to be able to watch it becuase they are at work or are doing errands. (Weekends are fine, it's the weekdays that's the problem)

TBS or MLB, either way, it just blows.

I'm with you. I'd love to join in on this wager.

I love how the past only matters when it's convenient. The Red Sox will beat us (Angels fan here) because they've beaten us in the past. Nevermind we beat them all year
(8-1). But the Rays on the other hand, whose clocks we've cleaned for years, are going to beat us because of this years record. :shake:

Anything can happen in the playoffs. Season record has nothing to do with it. This is a whole new season.

I think we will beat Boston because we are healthy and they are not. They are limping in like we did last year.

I think we will beat the Rays, if we meet, becasue we are more experienced in pressure situations. However, they scare me the most in the AL.

I think we can beat the Chi Town WS becasue we are simply a better team.

But, anything can happen and before it is said and done, it could be the Dodgers and the White Sox in the WS. Thats baseball.

Great to see the Dodgers win! The Cubs played tight. I can see the choke coming on.

This kind of reminds me of '88 when a bunch of kids rallied behind Gibson. Gibson was tough, Manny is loose.

No Bulldog like we had in '88. Maddux is a great closer though. Who'd a thunk it?

I counted 5 times that the anouncer was far off on the pitch count and I 1FWD through the last few innings when we had the lead so I had no volume.

Dempster definitely tried to control his pitches too much tonight. I figured tonights game would be a tossup with Lowe pitching. Definitely sucks to lose the first one but I think the pitching matchups the next 3 games go our way. It's hard to tell what Z shows up tommorow night. If we lose that one I'll start to worry.

Honestly you should have won game 1. Look at how the pitchers had been pitching. Lowe has been dominate lately but he's your only real advantage in the starting pitchers. The Cubs throw two aces the next two games and Lilly who's been pitching lights out lately for game 4. I'd say even in L.A Harden should be favored and Lilly and Maddux is a tossup. So looking at the rotations I'm not too worried right now. If Z falls on his face tommorow night then that all changes but I wouldn't be too worried going to L.A tied 1-1 with Harden and Lilly scheduled. No one expected this to be a sweep.

You are right that no one expected a sweep. I can see your stance, which is the same I would have if the Dodgers lost the first game. But losing at home with a Zambrano/Billingsly match up tomorrow. Well, that is not real good. While Lowe has been there hottest pitcher, clearly Billingsly has been the Dodger ace this year.

Who knows what Z will do tommorow. If he comes out loose I think he'll be fine. The Cubs just need to relax and have fun. I think they might be trying to press a little too much but I'm hopeful that was just a little first game jitters. Soriano swung at EVERY SINGLE slider away today. Granted Lowe is a good pitcher but most of the swings were at pitches a foot away from the strikezone.

This game was obviously a tossup. I love Dempster but Lowe is a better pitcher. The only advantage we had was that the game was at Wrigley but that was taken away by one swing of the bat. It happens. It's playoff baseball and these teams are here for a reason. Also I'm not like the majority of fans that will call the season a failure if we don't "go all the way." To me the main goal is always just to make it to the second season. Back to back NL Central titles is a pretty good accomplishment. I'm just happy to be talking about my teams chances in October instead of rooting against the team that dominated mine in the regular season like some posters in this thread. :D

A tossup? We have 1 stud. Manny. In the CNNSI Power Rankings I read this morning we were 8 (of 8 still alive) and you were 2.

The pitching matchup tonight was a tossup. With the wind blowing like it was I figured it would be a pitchers ball game so I figured the game could go anyway. The Dodgers have no expectations which is always scary.

Only one team is going to win the World Series in a given year, and pretending that it's a curse or that the Cubs' franchise has a penchant for "choking" when they've only made the playoffs once or twice in most post-WWII decades is just as retarded now as it was two weeks ago.

2 best teams in the Majors barely even put up fights. Regular season record doesnt mean crap. Its just who gets hot at the right time.

It would be something if there was another L.A/Boston championship. Wow. Still a long ways to go obviously, but we seen it once already this year.

The two best teams are playing in the ALCS.
