Project/contract management; mostly buidling cell towers.

worked for Black & Veatch as a cost analyst etc for about 2 years; prior to departing for this latest gig. 4 years prior to that for the largest startup/Sprint affilliate (ultimately bought by sprint and laid off)

Not sure what you mean by "building" but if you were one of those guys who climbed monopole towers to do the wiring hookups - whatever you were paid, it's not enough.

I wouldn't mind it every once in a while when I'm on my game for shits and giggles but to do that every day is kinda nuts. You know you're going to be sporting a hangover one of those days and goof up. At least I would.

I used to work for a construction company that had also previously done microwave towers. One day we got a call from GTE wanting a light bulb replaced on a tower in arizona. We had a guy drive from Kansas to AZ, climb a 2100' tower, swap the bulb, and come home.

He had some good stories about building towers in the old days. They'd rent a car, drive it to the site, take off a wheel, bolt on a contraption they'd made, and use the driveshaft as a winch to raise sections and equipment up the tower. Sleep in the car at night.....made a killing on their per diems.

Dayz....

That sucks, but this could be a great opportunity for you.

It sounds to me like you've got a skill set that might be valuable in the renewable energy field. Wind Farm development and construction is going wild...and should be for some time. There's work in that area.

I don't care what anyone says...Its NOT hard to find a job.

Clear your head, consider who you know in your industry and send some emails/make some calls.

If you've been solid, you'll have connections that can hook you up.
