2:54 PM -- Two Republican removed for challenging voters

The removal of two Republican election workers from a Warren Township polling site - for using improper methods to challenge voters' rights to cast a ballot - has prompted local Republican Party leaders to issue a statement of regret.

The two officials - an official challenger and a clerk - were removed by unanimous vote of the Marion County Election Board.

The officials were reportedly challenging voters with information obtained through party affiliation reports, which is not one of the accepted challenges such as a person's address, age or lack of ID.

"We were disappointed to hear (http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081104/NEWS0502/81104001) of the incident regarding these two workers. The Marion County Republican Party was not aware of these alleged activities, nor did the Party instruct any worker to engage in such behavior," Marion County Republican Party Chairman Tom John said in a statement issued at 2 p.m.

This just in: Townhall.com is reporting that Republicans have infiltrated several polling places in Philly and are attempting to vote. In other areas, poll watchers who were exposed as being Republicans were thrown out before they could make any Obama supporters feel uncomfortable.

The good news is that if you live in the Philadelphia and vote in the 44th Ward, 12th and 13th divisions; 6th Ward, 12th division; or the 32nd Ward, Division 28, these precincts have all been purged of Republicans and have been deemed "voting sanctuaries" where registered and unregistered Democrat voters can cast as many ballots as they want without being glared at.

They should see jail time. IMHO any voter fraud should result in jail time. Whether it's voting twice or preventing people frm voting by use of illegal means. It undermines our entire system. It's right up there with jury tampering in my mind as an unforgiveable sin.
