"Truly deserving" I don't know about that. McCain is a truly deserving man
after what he's given back to our country. Maybe you could say the
African Amercian race is deserving, but not that Obama is deserving

I thought Obama's speech was inspiring to say the least. Lets hope he doesn't lead to far to the LEFT with nancy and Harry leading from the front.

I'd take comfort in assurances like this if I had confidence that Obama supporters would recognize when he screws it up. :p

As for me, I'll certainly support the guy's foreign policy in a way that most Bush haters didn't support his. I may not always agree with it or endorse it and I may be critical from time to time, but I won't do everything in my power to undermine it either. Wrt his domestic policy, I can't imagine him doing much to earn my support. Even GWB was hit and miss on that score and just about every Obama promise cuts against my beliefs and his historical associations are even worse.

Well, wasn't the guy I wanted, but now that he is the prez of the US, I fully support him. For the sake of our country, I hope and pray that I was wrong, and he turns out to be the best prez ever. I feel for the guy, as things have gotten so out of whack, that it would be an almost impossible task to show any real positive change in one 4 year term. The odds are against him right now, and I for one sure hope he beats em. The one thing that bothers me is some of the reaction from the african american community leaders. When asked what he was thinking as tears ran down his cheeks, Jesse Jackson replied that he was thinking about all of his grandparents and great grandparents and all of the loss of life because of slavery. What in the hell does Barack Obama winning the presidency have to do with slavery? What is wrong with "It is great to see this country get past race as an issue, but what is better is that I feel we have hope for change to some of the problems facing our great country"? What is the real issue for these guys?
